Hi guys,

 

New to the forum so thought I'd add a whats in the bag post

 

I'm not a massive tinkerer and will generally keep a club in the bag if I like them

 

I've actually just come back from a few years away from the game as a result of work so despite their age the clubs are all in good condition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Driver is a 10.5 Titleist 910 D3 with a Motore Speeder VC 6.1 Stiff shaft set to A4 - I recently went to a fitting centre to see if I could improve my distance as it's a fairly old driver but I had pretty good launch numbers with this club and the fitting centre was struggling to improve on it. My current stats with this are 110 swing speed, 155 ball speed 12 / 14 launch and around 2050 spin rate. The best driver I tried was the Ping G400 MAX, it didn't do much to the ball speed but bought the spin up a little bit making it a bit more forgiving.

 

It was a shame really as I was hoping for a few extra yards

 

3 wood is the 910F 15 degree with a Motore Speeder VC7.1 stiff shaft also set to A4 to hit the ball a bit higher during the winter and rescue wood is a 910H 19 degree with a stiff shaft - I am open to the idea of replacing this with a 5 wood as I do sometimes struggle a bit with rescues.

 

Irons are 710 CB's 4 - PW all standard loft & lies with Nippon 105T x stiff shafts - I prefer a lighter shaft in the irons so making them a bit stiffer helped me out

 

The wedges are due an upgrade, they're quite old and worn now - I'm hoping to get some SM7's in the new year in 52, 56 & 60 if the better half lets me!

 

My putter is one of the earlier Odyssey fang style putters, I prefer more traditional shapes really but this just makes the game that much easier!

Quality sticks! Still have my 910D3, it’s a solid beast and got a lot of play this year - just not as forgiving as my D2.

It surprised me how little difference the newer drivers made for me, everyone was raving about the TS2!! It goes to show it really is unique to every golfer, what works for me might not work for others!!

I remember those old Callaway Forged wedges! I had the 54 and 58 in the rusty finish. The heads seemed really small on that series of wedge too.

I'm sure I used to have the 56 & 60 as well but they've got lost in time after house moves etc. It's definitely seems like a small head, this is the 52 at address

A quick update to my bag the 2020

The only likely changes coming up are updating the 56 degree wedge which is now starting to wear and possibly a new driver if I can find something I like

All irons are standard Mizuno specs with KBS tour shafts 919 Tours 4 & 5 iron, Mizuno MP 68s 6 - PW with a 5 iron added in to practise with and save wear on the gamer irons

I've still got the Odyssey fang putter but currently gaming a Yes! Callie putter which I absolutely adore!

All aboard the change train change, all change please! 

 

Bit of an update to my WITB as there have been a few changes, new job & new clubs... and for the first time in 10 years, almost have an official handicap again (one card to go)

 

The Odyssey Fang putter is back in the bag, I've struggled with putting of late & have changed from the Yes! Callie for a bit of inspiration, its going ok so far! 

 

The driver has finally changed, Titleist 910 is out, Taylormade SIM is in! 10.5 standard head with a proforce V2 x stiff 70 g shaft.  I'm not quite hitting Mickleton bombs but it certainly goes!

 

910 3 wood & 19 degree hybrid have survived, with shaft changes.  80 G x stiff v2 in the 3 wood and a tour spec (ohh err') Motore Speeder 8.8 in stiff. 

 

Full set of Mizuno 919 tours 4 - PW now, i did like the mix and match with the MP68s before but it was difficult to get correct gapping.

 

The SM7s have survived, now bent to 51 / 55 / 60 for better gapping
