What is your biggest difference in 9 hole score during a 18 hole round? Tale of two nines

My golf has been a tale of 2 9's as of late

36-44, 45(!)-36 and so on. I've been fighting a tight back and a lack of sleep.

But for the past year I've been really struggle to finish rounds in general.

It'll eventually sort itself out......

My worst was a front nine that was +10 followed by a -1 back nine during a league night where we count the first nine holes.

Mr. Consistency that night.

I shot 30 on the front 9 in our district championship and didnt think I could miss all day. Then I woke up on back nine and shot 37. I know it isn’t that big of a difference but the feeling between the two nines will never leave me! Birdie on 6-9 holes to holding on fighting for pars.

34-52. I’ve had 36-44 more times than I can count. Luckily that has become rare this summer. But last year. Yes. A lot.

My best Ray-Ray this year was 36-47. That includes five pars on the back.

25 years ago used a play a 36 hole Sunday deal...crack of dawn tee off and one of my buddies had been out all night drinking...literally. Rolls up to my house at 5am still drunk...proceeds to shoot 55 on front 9. I tell the other two guys hey lets get a game going..."I'll take Todd"...bought him two beers and a shot of jagr at turn. He shot 32 on the back and 73 in the next round as I kept the alcohol flowing...we won about 50$.

Last week shot 7 over on front nine and shot -3 on back nine. Buddy kept talking smack on front nine. We were playing for $ and I said let's double the bet for back nine to which he obliged. Really tried on the back nine and lit it up. I told friend not to poke the lion. :D He was miffed.

August/September 2009 time frame ...

Playing at Harbor Town ....

Probably playing off a 5 or 6 handicap at the time ....

50 on the front 9

39 on the back 9

89

I was severely hung over on the front 9. Wedding weekend, I was in bridal party. Back 9 was capped off with a man's par on 18!! A four wood off the tee, from the tips, into the fairway. A planned 4 iron into the front bunker (I knew I couldn't hold the green from 210ish and the green is the size of a dime). A blast out of the bunker to about 6 feet and proceeded to make the putt!

Happened this past Sunday:

-1 on the front

+9 on the back

So goes the driver, so goes the score. I should have bagged it for the 3 wood, but I’m focused on improving my driver play so I begrudgingly kept it in play.

IMO there's nothing worse than getting a birdie on #1....kiss of death.

I don't think I have ever birdied the first hole. Normally a bogey.
