They really just need to bring the black finish to the public. Tour use only sucks, especially when no one on tour is seemingly using it anyway.

Black 2.2, black shaft, black grip = more money spent

Amen. Take my money!

I am dying to know the theory behind that super offset putter. Please share!

The ER 1TS (named after his original version Tour Stroke) it was originally meant as a training aid. But players found it so stable almost 34000 MOI which is like 4 times the amount of the largest MOI out there now.

His a video on the entire 2019 line. He talks about this one around the 14:40 mark I believe.

Beat me to it. The TS or TourStroke is a training aid. Long story short, you address the ball as you would with a normal putter, meaning the ball is just in front of the shaft, and then you make your normal putting stroke. The theory is that, since the putterface is so far behind, it forces you into the habit of holding the face square for longer until contact is made. The quote from the video he uses I believe is that it "increases the size of the square zone," which increases the probability for the player to start their putt online more consistently. I've got about 4 good years in with my Rife Vault #1, and had an Aussie Tour Black for a few years before that. Hell, I'm pretty sure I was one of the original purchasers of the 2-Bar mallet back in the day. Rife's face tech has always intrigued me, and I've seen it work on course. I've tried some Evnrolls at Roger Dunn, and again, I can see that the tech is practical and makes an impact on your game. I will agree that they seem to have a bit of a firmer feel than my Rife, and funnily enough, Rife is still in business and just came out with a new line of black putters, which were also in stock at RD. Those feel very similar to my original Rife, have the groove tech (not the newer variable depth grooves like in the Evnrolls, but effective nonetheless), and all for $99. I'm pretty sure Guerin Rife doesn't own that company anymore and I don't want to steer anyone away any from potentially getting one, but the original can still be had for less than a lot of big name putters. I'm sure at some point next year I'll pick up one to backup my gamer.

Good info!

And you are correct, there is a part 1 video where he talks about his history, and does in fact say someone else bought the name and rights from him, he is not involved in any way with them currently.

So why doesn't this illustrious company offer a black finish or a black shaft on the 1.2 or a few other models?

I can't believe I called and asked for the possibilities and was referred to a separate company that has no affiliation wit Evnroll to get what I was wanting. Maybe, in time, when EVNroll gets bigger, they'll be able to do that and I'll happily give them my money but I suppose it will wait until then.

Great products and great putter but, that's my only stigma.

The head itself clearly isn't 34000 MOI. I think he's implying that if you look at the weight placement relative to the shaft then the MOI of the entire club would be 30,000 or something. I don't know.

I'm not sure that's how MOI really works. Also I like Guerin but I think the Tour Stroke thing is going to flop. Maybe they don't care and just wanted to do something wild.

I'll role a 2.2 to see how it performs.

But my 2ball fang plumber's neck is looking A LOT more likely.

Plumbers on a 2-ball fang??

Yep. It's going to happen. Check the prototype I did.

Who uses these on tour? Whenever I’ve tried Evnroll I’ve never been able to get past the dead feel.

What dead feel? Certainly not the 355g heads, the 370 just feels slightly heavier and more stable.

I've been rolling them for 5 sessions at the store, trying to figure out which model, and the feel is soft to me. A little tink on the ER5 at times.

The black ER8 looks great but I'm thinking that's a tour model - not for public purchase. Where is the phone # of black oxide?

I also ran out and ordered one of the original 2 Bar putters BUT returned it - did not like the feel off the ball. It was not an inexpensive putter back in the day. Guerin does not own Rife.

I do like the Evnroll stainless satin and the murdered out ER5 looks great. It took a couple of sessions to get accustomed to the tech and heft - an attractive line at a Cameron price - but the Evnroll quality, tech and design seems at a higher level.

Been waiting on this putter. Just ordered one. We will see. If this is a mistake, its easy to cancel. Got guaranteed delivery by 12/24. They better not send me a standard one. I would bet this is a mistake because I thought these weren't supposed to be available until after the PGA show.

I saw the black version at my local golf galaxy a couple weeks ago.

I ordered one to try because the concept of the face really made sense to me but I've found that there is one massive flaw which turned me off. It really makes sense to increase energy transfer as you strike it towards the heel and the toe because obviously you lose distance on off center strike. The problem that I've found is that in order for this concept to work the sweet spot is more of a dead spot and I just don't like the feel coming off the face.

If you're someone who likes an insert putter like an Odyssey or Taylormade this technology is for you. If you're like me and have basically played a putter that is solid stainless or carbon steel for their whole life you probably will not like these.

Talked to Justin at Evnroll today. Golf Galaxy has a pre-release exclusive on the black ER-5. It will officially be released in February which is what I heard before. If you want one early, better grab it now because they have a limited number. Also the 25% off helps too.
