Path Pro Training Aid

Common Questions:

(Q) Why do so many instructors hold a club out over your hands and have you swing under it and towards your target?

(A) The club extended out over your hands forces you to swing correctly at your intended target and FEEL the proper swing path for as long as possible.

(Q) Why do they stick a broken shaft in the ground and have you swing along it?

(A) The broken shaft in the ground insures a proper swing plane and can stop you from swaying or lunging depending on its placement.

(Q) Why do you practice and practice and not get any better?

(A) If you constantly practice the WRONG things, you engrain bad habits that become harder to break which makes it nearly impossible to improve.
_______________________________________________________________________________

Improving On Your Own:
Using an effective training aid is critical if you want to improve on your own because you can't have an instructor with you at all times watching and making sure you're working on the right things. An effective training aid is one that forces you to hit shots and repeatedly practice what you are trying to improve, while you feel and reinforce the proper swing positions with instant feedback. Even better, it's one that forces you to engrain several correct things at once, resulting in faster and more permanent results. In short, it acts like the eyes of the instructor when they're not with you.

Proper Path Starts With Your Arms and Hands:
Your only connection to the golf club is through your hands. That means the clubhead only travels on the path that your hands and arms swing the club on. Swinging on the correct path means the clubhead follows on the correct line. If you learn to swing along the correct path for a split second longer, squaring your clubface a little sooner and extending through the impact zone, your ball contact will be better. Better ball contact with a squarer clubface at impact means longer and straighter shots. IT’S THAT SIMPLE!

Position, Position, Position:
In addition, any time your club gets out of position, you’re forced to compensate somewhere else in the swing to get the club back on the right line. If you get out of position but know how to block the swing faults that lead to these poor positions, you can make the adjustments and engrain the mechanics that lead to a better core of fundamentals. There has never been a single tool that could accomplish everything mentioned above, until now.

Go to www.pathprogolf.com to see why over 65 of Golf Digest’s and Golf Magazine’s TOP 100 instructors, and 1000’s of golfers just like you already have this incredible new tool.

Normally I'm not big on training aids but this one is really a good training aid. I've been using couple of positions on PathPro in order to prevent my old bad habits from creeping back into my swing. I just need to use it more frequently, not whenever I'm playing badly.

TRUST ME...you did not make a Path Pro for $7...you may think you made something like it but it's not the same.

Not the same base, not the same arm, not the same density of foam and certainly not the same swing dial. :cheesy:

Besides for the promotional Golfwrx.com special price, you also get a year of Golf DIgest, the nylon carry bag, 2 FREE DVD's, an instructional guide of what to do from someone who knows AND a chance at the all expenses paid trip to the Kostis McCord Learning Center for a 3 day private school for two.

I highly doubt you can spend $7 at Home Depot and get that, not to mention copyright and patent infringement. :)

But thanks for the compliment and your support.

the path pro is a great training aid, dont get me wrong..BUT! its made of, like..just pvc pipe and a foam thingy...and i went to home depot and made one myself for..hhmmm..about $7 bucks..so yes its a great training aid..but..its overpriced..

but, the concept is pretty solid, especially for you to go HD and build one... it's great for those who aren't Bob Villa... i'd spend about 7 bucks just driving to home depot!

You probably could make a reasonable facsimile of a "Inside Approach" with stuff from Home Depot, but nothing close to real Path Pro.

I recently had the pleasure to test it at a friends house. For guys who can't afford to have a swing coach following them every step of the way on the range our course, the Path Pro is an excellent resource. Angling the swing arm into place definitely helped me on my take away and also at the top to stop me from overswinging. Using it reminded me of when I first started golf at 8 years old and my teacher used to hold a golf shaft to my side and sometimes over my head to do the same thing the Path Pro was doing for me. Loved it! :)

Out of curiosity, would that price cover shipping to the UK? I don't suppose it would, but if not, a price for that shipping would be appreciated.

the path pro looks hard to use. Is it? I dont think i could build something like that for 7 bucks... maybe 20 or 30... looks nice!

Just the opposite. It is very easy to use. You just loosen the screw and adjust the arm and retighten the screw, it is that easy. Don't forget the product comes with a great instructional video that is essential to the product. You haven't seen the product and you are speculating you can build it for that cheap. Hey I am all about saving money. I am sure you can save money if you build your own house too, but the path pro is very affordably priced especially compared to other training aids out there that don't do a fraction of what the path pro does.

Thanks Frank....you hit it on the head. It's simple to use and very effective. We will be showing just how so in the upcoming release of our new infomercial featuring Couples, Daly and Gulbis. And "Ace" no way of even making it for $20-$30.......you couldn't make the base for that. As matter of fact with the special GolfWrx discount and added bonuses, you couldn't come close. Finally, here's a link to an evaluation that another GolfWrx member / blogger did on the Path Pro after extensive testing.

Jim,

No problem. My biggest concern is when someone hasn't seen the product and wants to tell me how much it costs to build. Also the bottom line is I really don't care how much it costs. I don't go around determining whether I am going to buy something based on how much I think it might cost to build. More importantly no one is really going to attempt to build one once they actually see the product. The price to golfwrxers is extremely reasonable in my opinion, that is what matters.

I don't mean to single out one person here. A lot of people have used the argument that it only costs so much to build this or that. I feel that statement is inappropriate in this type of discussion.

Here is my own review for the product. This is surely the best training aid I have ever tried.

From my own experiences, I have found a lot of improvement in the Path Pro. I tend to be a range rat, but last year when I could get out to the range I'd hit for hours into my net with shag balls. Unfortunately, all I did was groove swing flaws. Ouch. With the Path Pro, you can pick out really any problem and work on it with or without balls. As Golf Channel Informercial as this sounds, I've gained probably 20 yards or so and I am striking the ball much closer to the stick. Great product. I've tried a lot of others, but this is the first that can really help you with everything. Using the video I am planning on working on my flop/sand shots this summer.

Thanks,

ZealousGolfer.com

P.S. Here is a cool comment about the Path Pro from my article: "Gary B. said...

I actually saw VJ practicing a couple weeks ago and he had two of these. One on his backswing and one on the follow thru."

  • 11 months later...

Due to personal reasons, I had to step away from golf for about five months and relied on GolfWRX for my golf fix. When I finally was able to return to playing weekly, I found that I had completely lost my swing. My friends who I play with were nice about the loss of my swing..NOT!!!..they said I looked like Furyk but didn't hit the ball nearly as well as him. :black eye: A friend who's a Pro offered me a few swing tips to work on. Unfortunately I'm not really great with just tips and need something visual/physical to get me back on track.

Now I've worked with the Path Pro in the past but had never made it a daily training aid to use to keep my swing in check. After a few awful rounds, I thought of the Path Pro I had in my closet. After writing to Cardo/hifade, he sugggested a few swing tips that I should use with my Path Pro saying there was nothing that the Path Pro couldn't do to help me. So I pulled out my Path Pro and headed to my friends shop where I could set it up and use it with his launch monitor. I set it up like Cardo suggested to stop me from looping it at the top and swinging to far from the inside. After banging the foam pad about a dozen times I finally was able to get myself swinging more on Path and from the outside. I also noticed on the launch monitor that the "new" swing had actually helped my club head speed as well. I did notice that I was stil leaving the face a bit open at impact so I made a quick adjustment of the Path Pro and started swinging again. After another dozen swings, I had things going right. I was getting great club head speed as well as a square face angle at impact. My whole swing felt smoother without that unnatural loop and from the results I've seen on the course in the last few weeks, it's definitely showing in my scores.

If you haven't tried the Path Pro yet of the swing trainers I have like the Momentus, Momentus Power Driver, Medicus and Matzie the Path Pro is the only one that instantly tells you that you're doing a move wrong. I know some people think a Medicus does it but there are ways to fool the Medicus either by tightening up the screws or making an awkward move. Everytime you bump that foam pad you know immediately you're not doing a move corectly. I know I won't be packing away my Path Pro again now that I've got myself swinging better. It will definitely be something I'll be using minimally once a week to check myself. :partytime2:

Thanks for the help Cardo! The next birdies for you! :coolpics:

Does anyone know what's going on with pathpro? I ordered one three weeks ago in the hopes it could help me address some ongoing issues - namely sway, takeaway width and maintaining spine angle on the downswing.

However - there is no shipping info on the weblink and no response to date via email or phone. Figure in three weeks I should of heard something.

My apologies......I was in an accident and in the hospital for about 7 days and then in the process of moving the office to Ohio. Back in the saddle now. Do me a favor and PM me your phone number and I'll give you a call. Again, sorry for the problems and delays......I'll make it right.
