So will Tiger call a penalty on himself at his OWN TOURNAMENT?

Oh come on guys. He dragged it out with the club! Its cheating plain and simple.

IMO, he clearly scrapes the ball out. (I don’t know why he didn’t take an unplayable?!) I believe he “knows” it was a bad decision on his part, and he states the video confirms he made a “double hit”. But, he’s also smart enough to know the new video rules ( which I applaud), thus making it all on him to call a penalty. So, no penalty.

I agree. Technically no penalty, but only because he hasn't got the class to call it on himself. The game will suffer. When cheats get away with it it always does.

Would have like to see the comments on this board if Poulter had done the same “shot” ??

Yeah, Poults does this on the 18th in a major to win by one over TW. This forum would crucify and stone him faster than you can say

They had it on full speed and slo mo from 3 angles.

Why didn't they call a penalty if he was cheating?

Because hes Tiger. Havnt you seen it? How do you need somebody else to tell you thats cheating. Mr Woods knew it was wrong but didnt have the class to call it.

Ya, I posted this link.

At full speed, looks fine. No way you can call a double hit/drag on full speed.

This is your opinion, not a fact.

Watch the shot in actual speed. It is reasonable to believe that someone hitting that shot, as quickly as it happens, would not necessarily feel a second hit of the ball.

Tiger says he didn't feel a second hit of the ball when he hit it. You think he's lying? Okay. But you have no proof of that.

Brandel, Frank Nobilo, Slugger White, etc. all felt it was not a penalty.

Maybe you don't understand the rule but you should go read about it. If the player was not aware of a double hit, they can't be assessed a penalty based on slow-motion replay.

I would need to remind the tape....I thought Woods said that in the front, slomo and zoomed view it appeared to be a double hit. But he didn't feel it that way when playing.

If the other views do not appear to be a double hit or scrape and you didn't feel it when playing what do you call?

This wouldn't even be conclusive in the NFL.

By the letter of the law (rules) it was no penalty. The rules committee looked at the shot in slow motion and high-def and talked to Tiger extensively and still deemed it no penalty based on the rules.

Londoner is just one of these posters that enjoys spouting bulloni to get a reaction out of people, but never actually provides legitimate support for their claims.

E.g. he says Tiger "knew it was wrong" yet doesn't explain how that is the case. When the only evidence we have is Tiger saying he did not feel a double hit.

You believe Tiger. I don't. He knows the officials haven't the gonads to call him on it. He also knows its up to him to own up, so he doesn't. Its a scoop plain and simple. Not in the spirit of the game. "Cheating".

Londoner, I dont think he knew the rules guys wouldnt call it. He just had his story and stuck to it. And I dont think he thought he double hit or scooped. In his mind, he he made a stroke.

These are pros, they all work the rules to their advantage. And given that TW has had basically had *every shot he has ever hit filmed for over 20 years. He is one guy that I would not call a cheater.

Least not on the course ; )

More theories and opinion. No actual facts.

Unless you have an ability to read someone's mind or definitively tell when they are lying during a TV interview.

Is that what you're basing your theories on or is it just your desire to believe that Tiger is lying, based on nothing?

I take your point but I think this could open the door to a lot more scooping on tour.

Mainly I use my eyes, you can SEE what he does. Forget the interview believe your own eyes . I can't see it for you, the evidence is on video and he admits it.

Except you can only SEE it when the video is zoomed way in and played in slow motion. If you can't see it in real time, it doesn't count as a penalty, explicitly stated in the actual rules. In real time it looks like he has a tiny extra c0ck of the wrists and then flicks them. I see hackers chip exactly like that all the time.

When I watch it in real speed, I cannot even come close to seeing a double hit.

Tiger said he did not feel a double hit.

He says that yes, in slow motion, you can see a double hit.

By the rule, if the player does not feel a double hit, he cannot be penalized based on slow motion replay.

I'm not sure what about that you don't understand.

Maybe you weren't aware of the rule decision.

Look it up: Decision 34-3/10
