Tour Edge EX10 Beta Review from a contest winner.

First off, I want to give huge thanks to Tour Edge and GolfWRX for this opportunity! Having the chance to customize a fairway wood, which has been the highest rotating spot in my bag, is just awesome.

I play off a 4hdcp, SS around 105-110, low spin/ low launch tendensices. My irons are 2* weak, 12* driver first hybrid is at 22*. I've tried a ton of fairway wood combos in the past.

Currently I'm playing the G25 4 wood, with the classic V2 66stiff. This has been the best feeling one to date, on good hits the face feels sharp and very powerful. I've never thought of it as forgiving. I like lighter shafts, to help with trajectory, but this one always felt a little loose at impact. My bad shots always tended to move a lot right to left, more than i think is normal for the swings i was giving it. I don't really use a fwy wood to go for greens. I'd rather hit my hybrid short and then rely on my short game. a lot of the greens I play are firm and fast bermuda, so its tough to hold them with fairway woods.

After consult with some smarter people than I, I settled on the 16.5 4wood, with the AD-DI 7S. It seemed like a tried and true option to give me some extra launch while keeping extra spin to a minimum. I use back and grey MCC+4 grips with two wraps, and they were nice enough to slap it on. I received the club about a week ago, and have had a chance to play a few rounds and hit a number of shots with it.

Appearance- This thing looks awesome. I love the black head/ black face on clubs, so I was glad that they've continued this theme. The orange shaft is The headcover is a really nice read/black/ white leather. It doesn't fit my current bag themed, but really sharp.

Performance- After I got used to the slightly heavier shaft, this thing is a cannon. As expected distance is already 10-15 yds farther than the G25, also as expected, the big curve seems to have been arrested. Not to say that i didn't hit my fair share of wayward shots, but the diving hooks and flared slices are replaced with slight pushes and pulls. The face feels great with PROV1x balls, and is noticeably more forgiving when i hit it off the toe, which is my miss. I had a 240 shot uphill into a small wind this weekend, hit if off the toe and ended up on the front fringe, with my old wood, wouldn't have even sniffed the green. I've hit some stingers on the range, even off the turf, which with my AOA and path is always a tough shot.

Not sure what else to review..shaft does exactly what i wanted it to, higher flight with less spin, more stable at impact. The head is forgiving, looks good, haven't hit it enough off turf to evaluate the sole feature, but have had really great results so far.

Closing- I'm tough when evaluating clubs, I have the 2106 M2 driver and the 2016 M2 fairway was absolute garbage for me. MY hybrid is like 8 years old. I'm not a brand loyalist by any means. The Ex10 is awesome and plan of having it in the bag for as long as it keeps working.

Happy to answer any questions, thanks again to Tour Edge and GOLFWRX

I too have settled on the EX 10 Beta. After my yearly assessment

of how my bag matches my current game , I have decided to bench

the EX9 Tour 3 and 5 woods and go with one fairway that could be

equally effective from the tee or fairway.

The deeper face, and lower deeper cog of the EX 10 make it a very

forgiving , higher launching , versatile club. Really like the

glued hosel , no adjustment design. I tend to fiddle around

with changing shafts and loft setups way too much.

Plus It gave me an excuse to aquire one more Fuji Platinum Speeder.

After a few more rounds, a little more time, with the 16.5* Ex10

Beta 4 wood, I would like to add to my previous post....

Looks : size and shape are kind of a combination of two of my all

time favorite Exotic models. The footprint of the CB5 with the face

and crown shape of the EX9 Tour adjustable 17* 3 wood. A good size

that fits my eye.

Feel and playability : the feel off the face is close to the CB5.

That was the one year they used the SP 700 titanium and feels alot

like the TSP 910 Beta titanium used in the EX10 Beta head. A hot,

springy feel, with a solid sound, not hollow.

Playability, good all a round performance off the tee (the deeper

face) or off the deck ( deeper CG, and slipstream sole ) make this

a versatile design. Face angle sets up nuetral, I have not noticed

it to be fade or draw biased. I have returned to the way I learned to

shape shots, adjustments to my grip and stance, instead of turning

wrenches....

Stock shaft, the Aldila Rogue M.AX was playable combo with this head.

But I kicked it up a notch by replacing it with a Fuji Platinum

Speeder. Phenomenal shaft, feel with this head is incredible.

In conclusion,I would like to commend Tour Edge for continuing to

push the boundaries of high performance fairways. I feel they are

still one step ahead of the competition..... Thanks

Any more feedback on EX10 Beta 4 wood? Are you still gaming it or benched? If benched, what did you replace it with? Thank you

Playing the EX10 Beta 4 and 5 wd with GD AD F 55 and 65 shaft. I'll echo the above - great head off tee and fairway, tremendous soft feel, even for a guy withoutt a lot of speed. Took a while to learn to launch the 4 wd, and the 5 wd is a favorite club. Even picked up a 3wd head to see what it will do,
