Got a G25 hybrid off ebay for a song. Bonus that it has the original TFC shaft (not the recent PWR80 refurbs) and it's 9.9/10.

 

Are the PWR shafts not so well regarded? Reason I'm asking is because I'm sniffing around a couple of 3w, one G25 and one i25. One has the TFC shaft, one has the PWR shaft, though I forget which way round.

I wouldn't say they're not well-regarded. Just that they were shafts for the i25 series iirc, and then recently were part of some G25 releases. Almost like they had some G25 heads and some PWR80 shafts lying around so they threw them together. I'm sure they perform fine, just was pleased to find an 'original' G25 in new condition.

Wish I could tell you..lol. For some reason the tour stiff in that hybrid just works. It's a 90g shaft so that makes a difference as well. It was giving me the best numbers for consistent distances. I needed a club to fill the 220-240 gap, and the tour stiff 90g just worked.

You know, it’s funny how much it makes you think about the numbers in a good way... Not just whether you got close to a target, but how the shot got there. I’ve started to concentrate more on getting a decently consistent launch angle, which in turn gets the spin and ball speed more consistent. It’s teaching me a lot!
