Taylormade hi-toe

Would there be any drawback to ordering one bent 2 deg strong in order to reduce the bounce?

I have a 64 HiToe bent 2 degrees strong to 62. It reduces the bounce slightly when the wedge is

addressed in the square position but is reintroduced when you open it up for bunker shots, pitches, or flop shots. It's been perfect for me and handles all types of shots very well.

I have one more spot in my bag and man im debating weather or not to get one of these in 60* or get the RTX3 to match my set. What bounce is everyone having success with? I would want it as versatile as possible around the green and bunker. Thinking the ATV sole if I was to pull the trigger?

if going 60 I would go 4 way. 12 bounce (atv) was too much for flop shots. Even the 8 degrees was, I took mine down to 5 degrees for that reason

Recently picked up a 58* Hi Toe and while I love the copper finish the shape is pretty much the same as my Ping Stealth ES grind.

Laying them side by side they are very similar besides the obvious... the grooves and the color.

Guess it makes sense seeing as the ES grind is the modern version of the Ping Eye 2 wedge.

Need to hit them head to head to see which one makes the bag this year, but not expecting a lot of difference.

Update*** the Ping ES was far better out of the bunker than the TM Hi Toe, the ES grind works better for me and the spin the Ping is able to generate is near perfect. Needless to say the Ping is in the bag and the HT is on the bay.

I added the 50 and 54 Hi Toe and love the way they look and set up. Wish they made the higher lofts without the grooves extending all the way along the face. Just not a fan of looking down and seeing all of the lines, so I play a Black MG 58 for the more traditional look.

Picked up a 52 and 58 a few months back but have only really given them course time in the last 3 weeks

I really like the 52 but for some reason I can’t get on with the 58

I’ve been a good bunker player all my life and always had a good touch with short flops but I’m blading and chunking the 58 like I’ve never done before, I found myself in 3 bunkers yesterday and really really struggled to get out (took 2 to get out of two bunkers)

Not sure if it’s the grind, the weight or the look but something is not feeling right

Im thinking of going back to Vokeys at least in the 58 (May go back to 56/60) but will likely want to match up the 52 with another vokey

I've just added the 50 (bent to 51) to the bag to go with the 56 and 60. I use the P790's with a 46 degree wedge hence deciding to go with 51 rather than 52 and adding a little bounce by going with 50 1 degree weak rather than 52 1 degree strong.

I'm really enjoying it so far. My only criticism of the 790s is they aren't the easiest to chip with as the ball comes off the face fast. I'm finding the 51 is becoming my go to club for a straightforward chip and run and the finish frames the ball nicely and feedback is good.

I'm still enjoying the 56 and 60, there is a learning process for sure over which to use in various situations.

I was testing wedges yesterday to figure out what would be moving into the bag (currently use Callaway MD3) and I was hitting everything currently available in 50 & 56 degrees. The best feeling were far and above (for my swing) the Taylormade Hi-Toe. I couldn't peg whether or not it was due to the face or the hi-rev 2.0 stock shaft.

Are Hi-Toes known to be super soft in terms of feel? Is it the shaft? A mix of both?

I have never completely pured a set of shots with a wedge like I did with the Hi-Toe. I had 10 perfect shots in a row. That is basically unheard of with any wedge I have ever played. I am a good wedge player, but never completely centered that many in a row with a full swing and not just a punch or chip/pitch.

Put at 52 and 58 in play this week. I really like them so far. We’ll see how they do as the courses finally dry out.

I play a 52 milled grind and then 56,60,64 in Hi Toe or PM Callaway. I have always said the two were SO close that I didn't care but I am starting to care LOL.

I prefer the HiToe. I really want to free up space for my 3i U65 so think I will get rid of the current 52, 56, and 60. Even though it will increase my gaps I think I will add a HiToe 50 and 58 and keep the 64. On paper that looks bad going from the Z945 PW just down to a 50 degree, but the 52 does not quite hit the distance I want from a gap wedge.

So, I will go from my 46PW to 50 and 58 Hi Toe.

I love the Hi Toe on every shot you need from a wedge. I really like the looks and they set up so good for full shots or lay them over for lobs.

Favorite wedges I have ever played.

Can answer the soft feeling aspect? I didn’t know if it was the club, or shaft, or the fact that I was just hitting them very well.

How have your Hi-Toes worked from wet, packed bunkers?

I'll most probably switch my wide-soled 59º to a Hi-Toe this spring. I tested it last spring and considered it to be an all-around fantastic wedge with quite a bit of wow-factor (unlike the old PM Grind for me) but if I remember correctly, the day I tested it, there was only quite fluffy sand as it hadn't rained lately. None of the pro shops around here have them in stock so I haven't seen one in person since.

I will be demoing one when I'll get the chance but that's likely to be late May, so this question is just to quench my thirst a bit. Its performance from wet bunkers would also affect my decision to also replace the wide-soled 55º. If the Hi-Toe works well from packed sand, I can keep the 55º but if it doesn't, I need to look at replacing the 55 with something like the M or S grind type at 54º, which in turn might make me get a 58º Hi-Toe instead of the 60º.

Swing DNA: 91/4/3/6/6
Woods: ST 180 or MP-650 - Irons: MP-H5 / MP-53 / MP-4, KBS Tour S - 50º: MP-T5 / 55º: FG Tour PMP  / 60º: RTX ZipCore - Mizuno Bettinardi BC-4

Anyone switching the shafts in their HT? I have S400 in my 46, 50, and 55 Vokey SM7s and am just feeling goofy with the stock KBS shaft in the Ht. It feels like a wet noodle even on 3/4 shots. I have an S400 read to be loaded and installed but wasn’t sure if I was the lone soldier in this adventure. I’ll probably change them out this weekend.
