Taylormade M5 & M6 Woods - Pics added page 46

I am against the price creep of the drivers this year. Nothing I can do about it, except for bow out of buying one (tempting to do the opposite with all of the hype though!). I do think the TM's look cheap and plastic. Like the interior of a $60,000 Chevy pickup.

For the fairway, what if it is a circle or cog like weight that only moves a few degrees in one direction or another? I can imagine a large part of the sole actually being the weight, and the actual head is just the crown and the face with some supporting structure.

65 Grams will move the COG significantly, however the weight must be so big that the track will allow limited travel from side-to-side.

100% correct. It doesn’t move too far side to side. But any movement at all with that significant amount of weight should absolutely be noticeable

Not going to go thru all 25 pages of this thread but I held the entire lineup in my hands yesterday. Both drivers have matte carbon fiber on the top w/ a much smaller "silver" area up front. In person, to me at least, M5 looked considerably better than the M6 (both at address and the bottom of the club, bc that matters...)

M5 fairways are pretty incredible. Titanium faced and have a moveable 65 gram (yes 65 grams) weight.

Also TwistFace is on everything, including fairways and hybrids. No hybrid in the M5 lineup.

So youre saying that i finally found a 3w what i like... and im going to try to replace it with it's younger-hotter-titanium model? :)

Believe me I am right there with you. Going to game my 2016 tour issue M2's until they eventually break and then the M5 is gonna have to happen

I already broke 2 and I’m still upset about it :(

Agreed.

That being said, I'm wondering how much effect the twist-face combined with a sideways COG shift will have on the heads gear effect.

Edit: Sorry the twist face dosen't effect the GE, but uses the heads GE.

So if somebody removed the screws and vacuumed out the speed foam, the face would get hotter? Asking for a friend.

Maybe. But I believe the face would crack rather easily too. If there's a cavity where the foam resides then the face is super thin and is reinforced by the foam. Be prepared to replace drivers...probably not at taylormade's expense.

Sooo. Pics were up taylormade threatens and they are down ? Always when I’m away. Lol.

Anybody know how reddit works ? Searched there and don’t see anything.

Edit - found them on instagram. Eh. Doesn't turn me off. Wonder what the crown looks like.

They are on Instagram.

7 of them still on Instagram. Almost a gimmicky looking Cobra LTD look...just put a heavier shaft in my M4 and my ST180 as back up think I'll get off the annual driver change merry go round.

The shape of the crown looks great. A lot of the new drivers are stretched out in the crown. This one looks pretty compact, which I like.

Still an easy pass with that crown. I prefer the look of the m2 17 version the best. The crown with the silver has nothing but made this driver look cheap.

Agree. The 2017 M2 has the best looking crown of any TM driver, followed by the 2016 version, imo...

The site is also getting a lot of additional eyes/traffic. I'm sure it is a tricky situation of figuring out how long to let each additional pic linger, and keep TM happy. Hopefully no one gets hurt.

I do believe I will be looking to test the M6 against my M4. The looks based on the pictures that I have seen look pretty good IMHO.

So

1. G410

2. M5/M6

3. Flash

Is that right??

In my opinion, it will be a toss up between the M series and the G. Both will be bringing different types of heat, I think when people see the G410 they will forget all about the Flash, the M6 is an absolute machine though. 2019 will definitely be the year for the driver. Sleeper will be the ST190 as ball speeds are showing drastic improvement over everything from 2018 including the TS series. I personally will be aiming for either the M6 or ST-190. In fairness, I know absolutely nothing about the Flash SZ besides the pics.

No, 2019 will be the year we all go file Chapter 11 after lashing out and WRXing (shafts, heads, adapters) for all these drivers.

Merry Christmas everyone...Ho Ho Ho

Looks great from the top IMO. I'll be interested to hit the M5 440 against my M1 440. I have my doubts that it'll be that much better, but it certainly looks good.

Who cares what the bottom looks like. The only time you see it is on the rack at the store and when you're about to put your headcover back on. The aesthetics of the sole of a golf club are literally the least important thing in my evaluation process.

I think that now they're "out" there (been on Instagram a few hours) the cat's finally out the bag so it's go time!

Same adapter as M3/M4 or was this the version they were switching, or do we not know this yet?

Lol...exactly. I cant imagine standing over a drive and being dismayed because I don't like the sole.
