Just curious what is the purpose of Japan only? Isn't more sales and more publicity a good thing?

Typically, the japan only stuff comes with stock offerings that differ than the usdm stuff. For example, whatever out there that has dg shafts as a stock offering, will more than likely be an s200 vs the usual dg standard in the US (s300/s400).

Lengths tend to be 1/4" short of the american standard as well.

As far as heads being japan only, it could be a certain colorway or more premium materials that differ from their american counterparts.

With all this said, I'm pretty confused about why Mizuno would release their MP319 a year after releasing the mp-18's, if the MP-18SC is the same as the 319.

February like everyone else, same time as 919 hm pro and jpx utility. Tried both drivers and they are worth waiting for and should be tested by anyone looking for a new driver

Very interested in the driver as well. Read on another thread Mizuno may have the shaft optimizer for woods as well. Any idea if this is coming early next year as well?

Not for this launch from what I know, only been talking about it for irons. But the new one for irons is pretty amazing, just look what it did for Pepperell. I assume they will work into it for woods as well but being Mizuno they probably want it to be perfect before they start shipping them to us

Anyone see Keith Mitchell get fit for his ST190 driver on IG? It sounded superb compared to the 180 model. Nice muted sound. Sounded a lot better than the ST190G videos I've seen. Really looking forward to demoing these. Hoping the fairway woods will be just as great. I've been looking to replace my original M2 fairway.

After speaking with someone that profiles shafts, the EF White is most similar to the Fujikura Atmos TS Black, with the EF White being a bit more tip stiff

Does anyone have Pre-Order specs and options lists on the new stuff?

I am supposed to be notified as soon as I can pre-order my JPX #5 fli-hi\utility,whatever......

So the JPX utility is a CLK replacement or a replacement for the older JPX fli hi steel shafted iron replacement hybrid?

CLK and MP-18 fli-hi stays and the JPX utility falls in between them. More forgiving, higher launching utility compared to MP-18

Hmm, I was hoping it would be a low launching bomber, I already found the MP-18 FliHi very forgiving...well that’s a slight disappointment...

Same here, but these lists are always subject to change and expansion. But in my experience not many people use 130 gram shafts anymore. Just all of us wrx nuts that swing 110 with a pw that needs them

I just find it weird that the two Japanese companies wouldn't be able to link up and provide more options. Often the no up charge offerings on shafts will be a deciding factor on club I lean towards. Srixon for example has been great at offering almost everything to the consumer. Makes it even better that they make great irons.

I know Mizuno was working with Nippon on some prototype shafts, both the Gost shafts and some other models so it feels like its coming along. I assume they want to offer as many as possible and i think they are among the best and its all w/o upcharge as well as no extra for graphite options.

I want to like Srixon, they make good irons with great options but after two bad customer service experiences with the 745s I'm staying away

Just to give some insight. Mizuno doesn't tend to drop in shafts based on popularity. Everything works of the Shaft Optimizer / Swing DNA software. To get into the offering a shaft has to do something that the current line of shafts doesn't / fit a profile that isn't covered. Shafts have to be measured internally and mapped out - Mizuno doesn't work off the shaft manufacturers descriptions and measurements. So takes a while for a shaft to work itself onto the program and be slotted into a unique bend profile within the software. Without Swing DNA it's easy - you just make the shaft available and allow people to buy it (even if its the wrong one for them). There's pros and cons to both approaches - but on the whole, Mizuno doesn't want to take the route of just supplying what's popular.
