Ping Blueprint forged irons- New photos added page 27

Guys, this is a "test". Basically, they're trying out a name like "Blueprint". If the public hated it, the final product would be "iBlade 2.0". If Blueprint catches on as its own thing, they'll keep it.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

I actually hope you're right. Blueprint is a dumb name.

All of this after I just reshafted my iBlades for 2019. I'll be in the market for 5-pw and keeping my 3-4 iblade potentially.

Don’t care about the name. I thought iBlade was a fine name. Blueprinting is a process and it seems odd to make it the name. But not a big deal.

To me Ping’s top-to-bottom lineup is as strong as ever. Am looking forward to seeing the 410 line. Seems like there is an iron for every taste. If the 410’s come out and the offset really is reduced to be more like the i210, that will be an appealing club. I like the G line but on some of the long irons the offset is pretty noticeable.

I blade, rocketballz, rocketbladz, king cobra,, jetspeed, mashie,hi bore, laucncher,Vapor, rogue, epic etc.....jeez, heir has been some pretty lame names for clubs, most of em actually so who cares what it's called. If it works it works and if it works well the name catches on......the JDM market is even worse for names.....at this point they could call it Martian stingers and wouldn't matter, lol

Titleist and mizzy are choice for relatively "normal" model series

Id say blueprint is more forgiving than iblade. So doubt you want to combo that way.

What would you base this on? iBlade is basically a cavity back iron, about same level in forgiveness as i210 but only with a better lookign profile.

Blueprint is solid 1 peace blade and will probably be as unforgiving as they come :D

Nothing about a blade that makes it inherently less forgiving. Lower cog will make it more forgiving off tighter lies. If it’s solid. That and all the tour iblade users are going to it. Has to be a reason. Iblade isn’t basically a cavity back. It is absolutely a cavity back iron.

I'm willing to bet someone a doz balls of their choice the Blueprint is a hollow bodied iron. The screw is for swing weight and the ability to add hotmelt.

For what it's worth, I was told blueprint will not be the name. I was also told I may be able to test them out shortly. We'll see....

I’ll put $100 on you caving in the face of the “blueprint” 7i if you keep them for a year. Thankfully Ping has exceptional customer service and will replace it with no hassle.

Finau is playing blue print.

Champ has a set although I don’t know if he’s fully swapped. . That pretty much covers the 3 large ping american staffers and one of the oldest staffers outside the us.

Thanks for the inane post of the day.

You're comparing players playing irons that have been out for years, to irons not yet released. Guess what, there are more 2015 Honda Civics on the road than 2020 Civics.

You came up with this all by yourself?

Then decided to post

Without ever holding the iron personally?

If they aren't straight in the bag as an unreleased prototype then they are clearly an inferior iron.

Heard through the grapevine that same thing myself. Started to post it. But then you get the “ how do you know that “ crap. But since you said it I’ll second it.

If these clubs are truly hollow like some here suggest you won't have to worry about very many pro's playing them. Pro's want dead solid feel, not tinny like a hollow bodied i500 or similar. PXG fills their irons with foam to kill the click and improve feel, but Ping hasn't gone that route yet (unless Blueprint is the first).

Lol. Always one ....

This time it wasn’t from my resident tour sauce source.

But from a pro I know who worked this summer for a guy who just built a new golf school in New England. He had their ping rep by the ear for a few days straight. Got a i500 3 iron out of it and got to hold a single blueprint 7 iron. They talked at length. And he said “ Every staffer I know wants to hit these and we can’t get them. Tour guys can’t even get them “.

Then I hear the same thing from another friend who has hit a set that belong to one of the advisory staff members who is testing them in the field. Same story. Those two stories happened 1500 miles apart.
