Just arrived Srixon z785 irons (pics)

New irons are here. Gorgeous! 5-PW modus 120s. Standard loft and lie. Moving on from mp-32. Had great feel and numbers during my fitting. Wish it wasn’t 32 degrees today!

You'll love them. I'm still obsessed with my 745s and I personally think the 785s look better than the 765s they replaced. Great buy!

I loved my set of z745's. They stayed in my bag the longest of any set i've owned, almost 2 years.

 

I have issues.

Nice.I ordered the 785 with the modus 105 stiff shafts.The haven’t arrived yet.I think they are taking a little longer because I heard the head office for Canada for Srixon has just moved to Quebec,Montreal I think,from Vancouver.

I played the 745,765,and soon the 785.

All 3 series have been great but each one has had suttle changes I preferred.This 785 series seem to have the cavity backed weight more centered .I found the 745 a little closer to the heal and the 765 a little closer to the toe.

The 65 and 85 are more rounded and the 785 are a little thinner top line and sole and a touch smaller in length of the face.

Also I and trying out a 105g shaft weight with my new ones.I also like new and shinny so cant wait.Suppose to arrive next week.I be playing simulator golf for a few more months up here in Canada.

The little bit of material they moved behind the center of the face is key, feels much softer than the 765. For some reason I feel like I'm able to work them a little bit easier as well. Didn't think I could like an iron better than the 765, but these already have an awesome chance. Great buy my friend!

Thank you! I played 9 holes today. Ridiculously cold, 35 degrees and very windy. WOW... these clubs with Nippon 120s shaft are the softest irons I've ever played. Even in cold weather, I was blown away by the feel. I've played quite a few forged irons from blades (18 Apex MB, MP-32, Nike VR Pro, Hogan Apex 99) and player cavities (Edel Forged CB, Hogan Apex Plus, 712 AP2, MP-62) plus a ton more.

 

These things, wow. That's all I will say.

 

Due to bad weather and very rusty swing, it took time to adjust to distances, but I am very very happy with my purchase.

 

One thing I am not user to yet is how high I am hitting the ball. The height is going to be game changer for me, especially with this feel. Much much higher than mp-32 with dg s300. Much different flight than I am used to seeing. Seems high but penetrating.

 

Very nice set! LOVED the feel, great turf interaction. Think these are going to be around for a long time. I am very very happy with my new stix.

Got another round in today. 46 here in lovely Cincinnati. It has been a unusually warm winter so far.

 

Hit a lot of greens today. Ball was flying really well despite colder temps. I am finding the z785 really forgiving, great feel and they just cut through the turf. Love how they through the ground.

 

Plus side the PW is outstanding. Very versatile and becoming a bag favorite. Very easy to pitch around the green and hit nice partial shots.

So far so good! I've had a lot of sets in the last 3-4 years. This has been my favorite and really enjoy hitting them. Great forged feel, very forgiving but have a little bit of distance to boot. Hard, very hard to beat these.

Can anyone compare with MP-18mmc. Recently hit all the mizuno equipment and really liked the, with the mmc, and the 919f/t. But these have caught my eye as well, and for some reason I think these will win out even though I haven't hit them yet. I blended set possibly with the 585s in the lower irons.

I think the 919 Tour are comparable to z785 but I think the z785 are longer, feel better and are more forgiving. I wasnt super impressed by 919 Tour. I liked the mp-18 mb much better.

 

I think the Srixons blend better in the sets too.

I've hit z765 7 iron with same shaft. Nkt much difference other than looks. TXG on YouTube did a comparison and they are about same with z785 being smaller.

I owned the 745, 765 and now the 785.

 

I think the 785 is a combination of the 745 and 765. The 785 definitely reverts back to the lines and size (blade length and top line/sole width), as is markedly smaller than the 765s (which I also liked).

 

The 785 are the softest of all 3 IMO. A little "quieter" feel (aka softer?)).

 

You'll love them.
