I have a Voss 2.0 and a Toulon Atlanta....not apples to oranges but haven’t had a chance to roll both side by side on a green. Basically giving the Atlanta a test to see if it stays. I always struggle with a wiggle in the backstroke with the PING and the PING feels so hard at impact. The Toulon seems to help with stability as it is the Moderate release version with the stainless steel 20g plate in the head and the 25g SS counterweight in the grip.

 

 

Worth a switch to the Toulon?

My .02:

I don’t care for Ping’s insert at all, feel’s very plastic-y. Hate it, actually.

I had a Toulon Austin, and while it felt great, I could never get comfortable with it alignment wise.

I also see quite a few Toulon’s for sale that are hardly used, including the one I sold, which I happened to see on theBST already, FWIW.

I think the Toulons are overrated, but to each his own.

I disagree personally. I’ve owned two Vaults, an Anser 2 and a Vault 2.0 Dale Anser, and I’ve owned I don’t even know how many Toulons. The Vault series is good, the feel of the face is slightly above average I would say, but the Toulon is a definitive notch above in pretty much every aspect if you ask me.

I’d have to agree with you on that after rolling the San Diego today at the PGA Superstore...my Voss May get kicked out of the bag once the new full face milled toulons come out in ‘19

I’ve never been a fan of the Toulon feel. Ping Vault putters feels awesome on the other hand.
