I played rifle flighted 7.0 in 1999 Hogan Apex blades for about 8 years. I like the shafts a lot. They feel softer to flex than they are. My favorite shaft now is KBS Tour 120 S. They are softer of course but to me they feel like they flex in a similar way. They most likely don’t but just feel as good. It’s not logical that a stepless shaft would feel similar to a stepped shaft. Just my observations. Take it with a grain of salt.

In comparing the taper tip rifle (not px), how much stiffer in fcm terms is the taper tip than the parallel? I play a parallel set at 4.7 and want to buy a taper set so I can mess with it in different .355 heads I have. I know swing weight and bore depth affect all this but as a general rule of thumb, how close are the papers to the parallel?

They are exactly the same, in terms of weight and bend profile

Ive spent a few hours looking around wondering the same thing and also came up with the PXi being the closest to the old FCM.

How about the KBS Tour using S R+ and R flexes

Under tip the S flex in the longer irons middle irons straight in and over tip the short irons?

Yes that can be done, and its how the NEW RIFLE FCM FLIGHTED is made

Instead of a mix of shaft blanks to get high launch long iron and low launch short, the flex slope from club to club is changed using the #6 iron as stating point, but we can use what ever club we like, the "middle club" would be the natural choice.

KBS TOUR Parallells and RIFLE FCM uses the same flex and tip trim system, so they are direct comparable,

Standard CPM slope on the new model RIFLE is 4.25 CPM in classic sets with 4/8" between clubs or 8.50 CPM pr inch

The Flighted model has altered tip trim both ways from the #6 with a slope of 5.66 CPM or 11.33 CPM pr inch

To make it we make tip length progressively longer equal to the CPM difference where 1 CPM = 3/16

5.66 CPM - 4.25 CPM = 1.41 CPM x 3/16" for each CPM = 4/16" or 2/8"

The #6 iron (if thats the MID iron in the set) is tipped to standard tip instructions

The #5 iron 2/8" LESS than chart

The #4 iron 4/8" LESS than chart

The #3 iron 6/8" LESS than chart

and the other way we go stronger

The #7 iron 2/8 MORE than chart

The #8 iron 4/8 MORE than chart

The #9 iron 6/8 MORE than chart

Thats how the new FLIGHTED RIFLE is made as Descending weight, but i also composed a SEMI Ascending Weight Flighted set up that can be used for both the OLD Model Rifle and KBS Tour Parallels. See details here.

Thank you for that response. It's been stated a few places I've looked that the taper plays stiffer so that's good to know.
