Impressive stats! I don’t have mine for this year, as this was my lowest volume golf year since we started playing. Not even enough rounds to worry about for statistical purposes. That said, 2019 is a new year! I won’t get close to what you guys are doing, but I want to improve!!! Great post OP!

Changing clubs and courses AND you dropped it 20%. Good stuff!

Gotta get those gir up. I hate when I hit a fairway and miss the green. Worst feeling for me...

My handicap significantly dropped, 3.4 to +0.3, this season mostly due to more consistency and honestly more distance. But I noticed that I went from about 5-7 FW a round to 8-10 and that led to many more greens. putting and short game not an issue usually. So the more greens in reg shaved 3-4 strokes a round. But again it was due to more FW hit as well. Was that a complete circle I just made???

Agreed, although we are renowned for having small greens, mixed with having the extremely dry ground during this summer, making it even tougher! GIR up to over 40% in the last 20 rounds.

57% GIR and +30% scrambling is great! Looks like bunker shots need some help.

I still use oobgolf, and got my Fairways hit over 70% this year. Have to get stronger from 50-150 next year.

Actually I've hit some great shots out of sand ...the low percentage of sandies is due to my inability to knock in some short putts

Why you think you are averaging a double bogey a round? At your handicap that is really holding you back. Average a 3 putt ever round as well?

I keep my stats on an app I developed myself. I was aware a while ago that 3 putts and doubles killed me.. so I added in a stat on the app I developed to highlight 3 putts and doubles and it was quite eye opening. This years was an improvement as well! I play at Carnoustie which accounts for the high css

Thanks, I have very few penalties, and rarely drive into any trouble. Distance definitely is what might be holding me back from the next step. I'm probably a +1 or +2 inside 150, and I do hit a fair number greens (51%) from 175-200 yards, but it's hard to hit it close enough to make birdie from those distances.

But I'm rarely on in 2 on a par 5 (maybe a couple of times a year, and it would have to be pretty short or downwind).

Higher scoring ave from 400 yards closer.. that's interesting. Maybe a game management kind of thing? Trying to really bomb it on the shorter holes, and it gets you in trouble?

Sorry I meant what is causing them? Anything in particular? Apart from a very difficult golf course?

The tough golf course definitely plays a huge part. As you can probably imagine you can run up a double fairly quickly at Carnoustie. It’s the same with 3 putts as well. The greens are so big here you can easily leave yourself with a bunch of 60 footers in the same round. And with the best will in the world, you’re going to 3 putt them occasionally

I am +2 in one mens league and +3 in a senior league. They only use tourney scores.

This year thru 48 rounds I counted for stats so far I have the following:

Adjusted average to par 72 avg=69.88 Actual avg =69.63; 22 rounds in the 60's Low round of 65 (3 times)- highest round 76 (once).

Gir=12.67; save percentage=73.5

pttg avg 28.67, GIR putts= 1.697

total 3 putts=28

195 birgies, 95 bogies,5 total eagles, 4 total double bogies

-105 on par 5's out of 193 total; -2 on par 3's; +5 on par 4's.
