I love my x forged in the long irons. Short irons perform well but look absolutely awful. Hence why i now use the MB 8-p. I really regret not just going full MB because they are one of the easiest MB style iron i have ever played. Def have to weaken the x forged lofts as well for gapping purposes.

Have the MBs and the 4-6 are easy to elevate and are relatively forgiving for a blade. I looked at the x forged, but didn't need them after playing the x-prototypes for years. The whole set looks absolutely amazing of course. The sole and bounce work better through the turf than anything I've ever played.

Go full Apex MB. They are not only nicer but at least for me they are much easier to hit. I went Xforged in 4 iron and MB in 5-AW. I am going to sell the Xforged 4 iron and get matching MB 4 iron.

As a side note I should not be playing blades based on my cap but I took these on the course and saw no discernible difference in my scores vs when I play my CF16's. I just had to club up as they were a club shorter distance wise.

Also get the AW. It is really fun to hit and precise.

I just got a set of MB 4-w. Was thinking combo but really like the 4 iron. I added a xhot pro 23* hybrid which I hit higher and longer (and had already taken 58* out so I had room for it) and this works very well for me.

These are easy to hit MB’s that look and feel awesome.

The XForged are a blast to play,

Great feel, reasonable distance,

Solid performance, in a players cavity back.

The MB's are one of the nicest blades I have had the pleasure of playing.

Play Golf.....Play Blades......Play Something Else.....Just Go Play.....

Where would you break up your set from MB to XF?

The MB set is designed really well. The long irons are surprisingly forgiving in "feel". They launched pretty easily for me. If you are concerned about forgivness in the long irons maybe try a flighted shaft or AMT. The lighter weight/ higher launch long iron shafts should help. XF and MB are too different in my eyes to do a combo set. The XF is boxier and bigger as well as hotter off the faces.

I've got the 4-7 in the Xforged and 8 & 9 in the MBs and couldn't be more happy with my set up. I chose not to go with the PW because of how nice the 46 vokey is. Been playing them all season and the gapping from 7 to 8 is good but could bump the 8 up a degree, just haven't seen a need to do so yet

I like this setup. I also won’t use stock pw as I like my speciality 46. Have considered the epic pro 4 iron though.

I’d prefer more bounce than less. I don’t want low bounce irons

I’m curious if Phil adjusted the lifts to make this work.

It's funny that some people comment on how they don't like the look of the short irons in the X Forged. I remember that in Rick Shiels review, he said that he hated how the PW looked but was thrilled with the performance.

I personally think that the whole set, including the short irons are some of the best looking and feeling irons that I have ever hit. Great clubs.

Are you referring to the MBs or the X Forged? Thanks

Both have higher bounce, fo the type of irons they are. It is frustrating that some OEM's do not post "bounce #'s" for there irons. All in all, I am a huge picker -1 on 7 iron so for me it makes a difference. Some people say since you are a "picker" bounce never hit turf and should not be an issue, but I am convinced it does. With all that being said, love the look of the MB's and my Xforged 5 and 6 iron actually feel softer to me than the MB's for sure. I played them with $ tapers and loved the combo for sure. The MB's are way easy to hit that is why I split set at 6 iron. I also had my buddy "bead blast" the chrome finish on Mb's and they looked great. The wedge and AW in both sets are not good looking IMO. The Xforged starts to get ugly at 8 iron and the PW is just plain ugly IMO.... They are a na awesome set of golf clubs for sure. The new 'Apex Pro's" are chunky and seem to be less of a "pro" model than years past as well. I think Cally wanted to make a bigger distinction between AP's and X forged, again my opinion....

Curious what flex s taper you play. I’m looking at a very similar set but not sure where I will transition the set to. Did you have to adjust any lofts? Also, have you hit the new apex pro and will you upgrade? Do you have a 3 iron and what does the rest of your bag look like?

Do you have pictures of the bead blasted heads?

I have a 46* MD4 wedge, 9-6 Apex MB, and 5-4 X-Forged Combo. The irons feel great, and I liked the turf interaction since I am a digger.

Only problem is I didn't get along with the Nippon 130x shafts I ordered them with. Posted them on the BST, but now I'm considering pulling the shafts and installing some c-tapers.
