Had a set of these back in HS, beautiful sticks, solid as they come.

 

Eventually sold them to a buddy. They were fairly used, and probably a good backup set if needed, but I was never a huge fan of the zero offset overall. It was totally a visual issue with me, looking down at another player's CB with a small amount of offset in the long irons was much more visually appealing for the 3i/4i/5i at least.

 

In retrospect, would have probably enjoyed the Maxfli Revolution Reds (midsize)

Are the Revolution Black grooves conforming? I found my old set in the garage and am thinking about putting some new grips on and playing them for awhile.

I have a set of these. I am currently playing them. I love the look at address. I love chipping with the PW. It is the only club in my 5 sets of clubs that check the ball on pitches. I can just throw it at the hole and it just backspins all the way to the hole then releases. They are my softest feel off the face. The ball flight is perfect. I am always trying to find a set of clubs with the same feel in a newer set but the old Revolutions just keep performing. They are about 8 yards shorter in carry distance but this is completely attributable to loft settings. The newer clubs are bent stronger than the older models. Where I would hit a flush 9i for 135, it is a smooth 8i with my Revolution clubs. That is okay because that is all ego. My Revolution loft in my 8i is probably the same loft in a newer set of Callaway, Srixon, Taylormade, 9i"s. Because of these lofts I get a buttery feel off the faces and I am not swinging as hard. The stopping power is amazing. I don't mind hitting my 6i smooth for anything over 150 because I know the backspin is going to be consistent and allow me to just throw it to the flag. I have found through trial and error that I don't want a trampoline face on my clubs. I want the ball to compress, not the face of my club so much. It makes for better accuracy. I am a 2 handicap and I love playing a club that allows me to feel the ball and not the spring off the face. These allow me to feel compression which equates to feeling like you are really in control of your trajectory and distance. In a word or two. Great clubs.
