Reed Unhappy with Jordan and Jim in Interview

Holy Moses

Recommended Posts

I think it’s Kisner who looks bad here, not Reed. Rehashing old stories that everyone already knows, stories you weren’t even there for, speaking for others who could have spoken for themselves but chose not to. Very sixth grade, very much the nasty 12 year old who tells the other kid that no one really likes him just to make himself feel like a tough guy.

I know that people around here love Kisner for some reason, but this shows no class.

I have to agree. Although every time I read a story I know something about, I am amazed at how distorted it is in print. It's like most stories are purposefully misinterpreted by the press. Kisner should know better by now.

Did kisner go on the record and know this was going to be reported .... just wondering if this quote came from an actual reporter - player interview or if this was casual comment that reporter heard or was said to him by kisner. possibly the reporter defended reed, and kisner then spoke what he felt was the truth, not knowing the reporter would then print the quotes attached to kisner's name. sorry, but the media doesn't get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to 'on the record/ off the record'.

i have to agree it seems petty for kisner to even comment on this if asked knowing its on the record. but i have no doubt players have made their opinions known and the topic has been discussed plenty off the record.

i did see McIlroy like an instagram post related to the kisner quote. assuming rory also sides with kisner.

I guess everyone didn't read the whole article as later on Kisner states “It’s an individual sport. You do what you do to take care of yourself,” Kisner said. “I don’t think he made himself any more popular to get a captain’s pick on a team if he ever needed one. It is what it is. He’s a helluva player, and he’s gonna make a lot of teams, and he’s gonna win golf tournaments.

Sounds like a pretty reasonable take to me.

It is winter and Kis is a SC boy. Anybody check his thermos ? I mean he may have been running along behind the wagon.

Seriously though. Pretty unneeded on his part. Everybody knows what’s what. And it doesn’t need repeating. And third person crap is just that. Crap. If little Harmon wants to say he wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire let him put his big girl panties on and say it. Don’t send men’s medium out to say it. Come on.

Yes - link to full article.

Gregory is part of Reed's team and has been, not surprising he always has something positive to say and he's a believer in Reed. Kind of a light rehash of everything that's already out there. Kisner went a bit too far. Reed may be a good guy in certain circumstances and certainly some folks on here have had positive experiences with him. I don't like his not taking responsibility for his own play after the Ryder Cup, misrepresenting things that happened and the whole family attacking folks things - he just seems to have a way of being his own worst enemy off the course and it gets pretty old pretty fast.

Kisner probably had an opinion of Reed and decided it was a popular opinion that he could leverage to get some press for himself. An intelligent person doesn't provide quotes of that substance unless it's a calculated move on their part. Kisner is an easily forgettable guy, the article likely has generated more social media traffic for him than he's had his entire career.

There's a fine line between being a villain and a martyr, if guys keep attacking Reed he could easily become a martyr. I blame Golf Digest for even publishing the article, it's old news and doesn't promote the game in the way it needs to be.

^^ Martyr, exactly, the more he is getting trashed in the media the more I'd like to see him succeed on the course. I agree it was a bad article but a player breaks the PGA Tour "code" by (directly or indirectly) bad-mouthing a fellow tour member then they're going to print it.

If a "code" as you mean it exists, I for one am happy to see it being broken.

Imagine what could happen if suddenly everybody starts to vent about others players.

It does exist, yesterday I heard Robert Damron confirm that during your PGA Tour new member orientation you are told not to bad-mouth the Tour, its sponsors, host venues, fellow members etc.

Correct, it's why it was a big news story when Phil criticized the Ryder Cup captain and course setups at tournaments because it's not supposed to be done.

It could be the kardashians. Why on earth would that make anyone happy. ?

Gonna go ahead and guess reed will not end up a martyr as the word is definitely out on him, concurrently it bothers me how so many guys go the route of passive aggressive and never handle issues directly

I don't know, if he's playing well but doesn't automatically qualify and doesn't get a captains pick I could easily see him becoming a martyr. The article lays the groundwork, he's hated by most, he's misunderstood and he works as hard if not harder than anyone else on Tour.
