Charley Hoffman's custom Cameron putter

I am reading that a lot of people are hating on Cameron for copying the Ram Zebra putter from the 80s. I don't deny that it's a copy, i just think that it was probably a one-off request from Hoffman. He probably asked if someone could make him a version of the Zebra which they dutifully did - only now it's a milled instead of die-cast.

I'd love a milled Zebra with a flat face, whoever made it! Charley's choice of paint is very questionable in opinion though. :crazy:

Just for the sake of knowing the history of this Cameron model known as The Coupe it is not a new model. While the one pictured may have been produced or at least assembled recently for Hoffman this model was done in a very limited number by Cameron several years ago. This may be one Charley had in a closet or one that Scotty saved a few heads and put it together recently.

Is it me or does Charlie look a lot more fit these days ? During an interview on Sunday he looked really leaned out.

Among my collection of putters (48 ish now) I have 2 Zebras. One grey and one black... and from back when I used to build clone clubs at a golf shop I worked at I also have a Tuttle clone and a Fat Lady putter clone as well. Haven't heard any of these putters mentioned in quite some time. I may just have to go looking and see which, if any, of them works as good as they used to.

Charlie has used this putter for a long time, no matter what has been posted about other Cameron models he has also used. He had the Studio change the neck position and angle and the Studio change the paint fill.

Scotty made Zebra style heads for tour guys years ago. Several years ago he asked for them back. No worries now. I love it

 

Another note, the old Ram Zebra was the first putter I used that had a putter cover

That putter for CH looks horrendous!
