Questions about Cobra CB/MB

For the spring I am going to be picking up a new set of irons and am pretty set on the new Cobras. I haven’t swung them yet but in hand they just looked amazing. I am considering doing a full set of the CB’s, they seem small enough where I won’t really miss having blades. How does the MB compare to the CB in terms of feel and forgiveness?

I actually just ordered up a set of these in the standard flow 4-6cb 7-p mb. Feel may be a bit subjective, but they felt better than the other mb’s I hit (Apex, Titleist, MP-18, etc). I debated where to break the flow at either 5/6 or 6/7, or even if I just wanted to go full MB, but the cb’s look great (4i on LM), feel great and I figured a bit of extra forgiveness in the 4/5/6 isn’t a bad idea.

 

So now we’ll have to see how they do on course!

Not sure if this helps, but I have hit the '16 versions of the CBs and MBs in the 7 through PW. Biggest difference is the soles between the two with the CB being a bit longer. Would assume that would make the CBs a touch more forgiving through the turf, but they feel pretty similar in forgiveness off the face for me.

I have a set of the MB's they made a few years ago. They are absolute money. Buy with confidence.

I went will full CB and honestly think that’s the way to go. I’ve never been a fan of mixed sets for many reasons. The CB’s are tiny and feel amazing go with it and be happy! These are the “the” irons to have in 2019.

Actually have an additional question. I’ve never stripped the paint full from a DBM head. Is aircraft stripper or acetone going to cause any finish issues? Any other watch-outs vs doing it on a chrome head?

 

Thinking about just completely murdering out the paintfill or going white only.

I’m about to do the CB myself and loose the orange. I highly doubt it will effect this finish.

I'm not a fan of the black but beyond that I very nice set of irons. The blades are blades but offer a lot more help than you would expect. The CBs are very compact and quite forgiving for their size. I wish they came in a brushed chrome finish, I might give them a shot.

I did the CBs 5-GW, and agree 100% with Big Ben.
