Steelfiber 110x

Today I got to hit these shafts from the bag of a Cdn Tour player. Was super impressed. Feel and dispersion awesome

I've hit the 95's before and liked them but these felt much tighter

Any users out there? What shafts have you played before these?

Thinking this might be the graphite unicorn I've been looking for .... the Aldila NV105x's I got were too light

Got one coming in ... i500 six iron .. excited to try combo

Head office emailed me back and based on shaft history and speeds/carry they came back w 110x straight in or softstepped once

Freddy is 110x straight in fwiw

Former heavier shaft players seem to get along better w 110 vs 95 apparently

Just want to kiss golfer's elbow goodbye

HAVEnt hit the 110. But a little bird dropped off a set with 125x and they are really tight. Really just like my 130x modus. Hard to believe you’re hitting graphite.

Some of their new 115 wedge shafts could be a perfect match to the 110's

So today at my fitter while changing shafts in 5 or 6 clubs I stumbled onto something that could be "unicornish", fingers crossed. Don't want to jinx myself

I've been trying different shafts in my s55 seven iron ... out of boredom mostly. Pulled a PX LZ 6.0 out which I did not love (Nippon 1150x ss 1x is the default).

NB I have been trying to find graphite iron shafts on and off over the last 3 or 4 years to help with my aching old man elbows and hands. Aldila 125x, vs proto 100x, NV105 proX, recoli proto 95's etc etc

I had a 110x steelfiber kicking around that was a 5i shaft. It came in my i500 six iron club (per opening post above) that I ordered to test (soft stepped once). Felt so harsh in the i500 head .. most shafts do for me in this model it seems fwiw

Well let me tell you this 5i shaft (soft stepped twice into my s55 seven iron) feels unbelievable and hits it very VERY straight. I was in dress shoes and a dress shirt with no glove and was only swinging 83-84mph (normally I am 90-92 with a 7i). I was producing shots that carried 164-166 at this slow mo speed. Carry was great ... and feel was great .... and best of all ... LASER BEAMS

Anyways, heading back in with golf shoes and a glove to see some real #'s. If all goes well I need to find some more Aerotech stuff and cure my left golfer's elbow for good

PS the XP115 x100 shaft test was performing fairly well in my t-mb six iron.

Ahhh .. winter ... time for the musical chairs of shaft juggling. A man has to do something when the first snowfall of the season arrives like an angry mother in law

Love my SF shafts. They are straight in but I still love them. Pretty cool you stumbled into that SS x 2.

I can't remember, did you only try those graphite's in x-stiff? If those Nippon's in X is the default, I'd think all those graphites in stiff would have been a much better match than x-stiff. Also explains why you'd have to soft step the i110's at least twice.

X yes .. but soft stepped as well as straight in. It's a tip feel / kick thing for me ... not flex. I can still hit straight in x100's just fine fwiw

Not sure if two soft steps in SF is the same result that you get when you SS steel shafts

Maybe straight in 110 stiff would work ... thx for the idea

Straight in 95 SF in stiff feel fine for flex but a whisker light IMO

Yes, my point was don't get too fixated on shaft flex labels. All of those graphites you tried are fairly tip stiff design where as the Nippon is almost the opposite. So a standard Recoil 110 or maybe even a steel fiber i110 in stiff would be a closer comparison to the Nippon in X.

You may also want to consider the newer steel fiber FC series - a lot less tip stiff than the i-series. Although hard to say if stiff or x-flex would be the better route - probably X.

Not sure if two soft steps in SF is the same result that you get when you SS steel shafts

That's more a function of the original profile than the material.

two soft steps on the X 110 on a CPM scale still stiffer than the equivalent S

Irons set for Florida, early wrx thoughts from testing so far is that 125s thru the set will be worth trying as well

CPM's isn't a good judgement of feel, especially in graphite but ... In general, yes, SSx2 will usually be stiffer than going down a flex.

From what I've seen, the i125 profile really isn't all that different from the i110's. So the i110's in Stiff wont be all that much different than the 125's in stiff that you've already tried. That's going to be your best basis for judging the difference.

it's going to be a progression of weights to test per my other SF post .. 95 in 6i ... to 110 in 7,8,9 and then 125 in PW, 53 and 59 wedges ,,,, and then re-evaluate after 15 rounds down South
