Pricing sent from PXG HQ.

PXG has dropped their pricing a little. That’s a great move!

It could be. Hope the new driver has some better ball speed numbers. Gen 1 drivers had fairly low ball speed.

Agreed. The Gen 1 spun way too much as well. Hopefully they corrected this in the new offering.

Maybe they'll drop the pro orange given the new price of the driver?

That's BS. The 0811X is one of the lowest spinning drivers already.

It was. I couldn't spin it over 2000rpm even with a 12 head. I'm gaming the XF with a TPT.

The original 0811 was on the higher side, but the 0811X was not. I got lower spin than with subzero, f8+ and g400. The only head spinning lower for me was st190.

Btw, I prefer my spin over 2200. Any lower and I feel I can't control my flight.

So right!

The 0811X that I had beat out both a M1 460 & 440 in both spin and distance.

I simply did not care for the way it sat nor the feel/sound....not terrible though.

Will be trying the new GEN2 driver as well to see how I like it, but I feel that one of the new TM drivers will mostly end up in the bag.

Was just fit for a set of Gen 1 irons (thanks to the wife for the amazing Chris gift). The fitter actually showed me the head, wouldn’t let me he it though (bummer). Looks very sharp and he stated the price would be $580.

$580 with any shaft they carry?

Didn’t dive into all the shaft offerings that were standard and up charges. He said it was going to be similar to there previous offerings but maybe be slightly different.

I spoke with my local PXG dealer this evening and he told me there would be standard non-upcharge shafts and premium shafts with upcharges similar to the other oems. He said that has a lot to do with the new pricing structure and that with the old prices there was enough profit “built in” to allow for premium shafts at no extra cost.

I’ve heard the same here in the UK...looks like a new strategy, bring on Gen2.

I agree. I think pxg is looking to establish themselves at the top end of what’s considered competitive prices. I personally think it’s a good move as I think they make some great equipment and if their prices became more in line with the top end of the market I think they would become more mainstream and remove the some of the stigma some people hold against them.

Local PXG fitter says Tensei pro shafts are upcharge. I play tensei pro white in the 0811x and he told me that shaft is now an upcharge as are all other tensei pro. He did say that the T1100 is standard tho. He did not tell me what the upcharge would be. He also said that the ball speed numbers are usually up 4-6mph over last version (for relatively normal swing speeds of 100-105) and 1-2 over current competition and thus no one would pay 850$ for only 1-2mph hence the price drop. He did say it sits very similar to the current model as far as face angle being less rounded.

Also, fitter said that almost every pro has had to go up at least one degree in loft to get the optimal launch angle/spin/carry as the spin is truly much less than previous versions.
