You guys saying irons didn't read the OP's question. The joke was only semi-funny the first time.

One of the best competitive amateurs on this board plays a bunch of hybrids.

Sounds like OP probably needs 27 and 30 degree hybrids. Ping, Cobra, and Tour Edge are good ones.

I play with my girlfriend's sister often (HA) and she uses an RBZ 4 hybrid for any shot outside of 120-130 yards. Now, I think she would be much better served to get fitted irons and take some lessons (she's playing her dad's old AP1s which have DGS300 in them way too heavy for her) but she can choke down on it or shorten back swing and hit her yardages decently. Usually scores in the mid to high 90s. So basically - whatever works for you.

Side note, if you aren't already playing from the front tees and you're asking for a 150 yard hybrid.. you should be.

I love OB's hybrid stories! He's a guy who knows his game and is 100% comfortable using the clubs that perform best for him.

Oh my! Hybrid on a 150 yard par 3. Why stop the search there, do Callaway still make 11 woods?

Since your asking about hybrids... I won't give a silly answer like... 8 iron. First, I cant hit an 8 iron more than 135-140 tops (a 150-55yd iron would have been a 6 for me, maybe a 5). So like a few others that replied, I'll say a 27 degree hybrid like my Titleist 816 H1.

Early in 2018 season I replaced my 5 and 4 irons with Titlest 25 and 23 degree hybrids. That was the best move I ever made for my game. I always struggled to hit 3.4 and 5 irons solidly and straight. After great success with the 4 and 5 Hybrids... I decided to add a 27 degree adjustable loft hybrid to replace my 6 iron. It's a 155yd club full swing and a 150 club gripped down a couple inches with an easy swing.

Again, the best decision I made club/equipment this year was to replace my three longest irons with hybrids. Do what's best for you.

depends on how far you hit your clubs now. But, I have a 28(labeled a 6 hybrid) degee hybrid that is a 165 or 170 yd club. I can choke down it and hit it 150 if needed. I have also messed around with a 31 degree hybrid and it is about a 155 ish club. I have a M2 and Steelhead XR in 28 degree and the 31 is a Great Big Bertha. I normally hit a 7 iron 150 for reference to an iron. Just remember, the hybrid is a hotter club than the iron, typically. So the corresponding hybrid(example 6 hybrid vs 6 iron) will go further.

Over water and/or water on the right which is my dreaded haunted house and the older nerves start to kick, grab the hybrid instead of the 7 iron and eliminate the dreaded push fade or worse the evil shankiopotumus.

Whatever works. Hell, I have hit a driver on a par 3 before. 210 and much of it over water. 3/4 swing driver. Bam. Whatever works.

Just a thought but why dont you look at a full set of Cleveland Launcher HB hybrid irons. They are stupid easy to hit. Out of curiosity I hit them on trackman. Easy club in the world to hit I'd probably shoot par with them...just sayin
