Two of my all time favorites

The King & The Great one

I still laugh at Gleason every time I see him say “First, you address the ball. Hello Ball.”

I laugh every time

-Chris

My twin brother usually pulls this line out 5 or 6 times a season, I laugh each time as well. We had our 'Nick at Nite' stretch back in middle school watching all the old great programs.

Seems to me that Art Carney was actually the one who said, "Hello, ball!" while the two were trying to learn about golf in the kitchen. The baseball-like swing that followed, after, "GO!", wiped out all of the shelves! Hillarious!

This one too. The golf he played to win Turnberry in '86 was as good as it can by played.

Greg-Norman-1986-British-Open.jpg

What a year that could have been!!! the saturday slam.Insanely high level of golf just couldnt close on the other 3.

Right?!? People remember him for that collapse at Augusta in '96, but they forget how good he was at the height of his powers. For a decade his A game was close to untouchable.

Norman was an even greater sportsman by the way he dealt with the aftermath of his 1996 Masters collapse.

I've always thought that shirt was uglier than the choke.

Norman’s reverse c was a work of art...one of the best swings to ever walk this planet...

Spare me any Augusta stories or “he wasn’t nice to me” stuff...

Norman’s golf swing was a glorious move.

I've been lucky enough to have seen Norman live, and back in the 80s during his prime. His athletic move through the ball was incomparable. And the larger than life way he strode down the fairways, he just oozed charisma. His critics can say what they like about the choking and his ego and him being an a** hat, but in his day nobody was in any doubt that he was the star of the show.

edit: FWIW the bottom photo is not Hogan but Jack Fleck going about defeating him in '55 U.S. Open playoff at Olympic Club, and to my eye that's the 18th green he is putting on. at any rate you stumbled across a photo of one of the most improbable stories/outcomes in the history of golf, very worthy of this thread. ;)

I love all the old pictures of men wearing suits to sporting events. Where did it all go wrong?

The year was 1980 and the logo below began popping up everywhere....

Skynet became self aware shortly after and our world became what it is...

my father to this day swears it was the early 60's, and because of John F. Kennedy's fashion sense, that for the first time American men made the move towards "casual" and "business casual" out in public or in the workplace..

Also, it's not only Tiger who likes baggy, pleated khakis.
