MP25 vs MP18 MMc

Have played them both and a big difference to me.

The MP25 was my least favorite Mizzy of all time. The MMC my favorite due to:

Consistency

Distance

Feel

Could have been down to shaft but I liked the feel of the 25s better, but the 18s were longer. I have never been all that sold on Mizuno, but I am coming around finally.... It's not like that price difference is small, I'd probably save the cash and go new 25s.

 

 

Edit* Just acquired my set of 25s in trade and got them out on the course yesterday for the first time, no range time at all... I was REALLY impressed with them overall. Feel was outstanding and distance and flight were exactly what I'd be looking for. The 18s are gorgeous and feel great too, but I would not hesitate to grab the 25s and save the money if I were in the position you are.

I have an MP5 / MO25 combo set (3-5 is MP25) and think the 25s feel great. Probably should have gotten the whole set like that but I am wrx’er and needed blades too. 25 is definitely softer on off center hits. 25s are longer than 5s for me too. 18 look better IMO both great irons.

Cant speak for the MP25....never hit them, but I've had the MMC's for about a year now. They're everything you want from a mizuno iron. Great look and feel, good distance, and surprisingly forgiving. Welcome to the Mizuno family :taunt:

I'd say it depends on what you want. Aren't the MMC's decently forgiving especially for an MP iron? Like I might be able to play them level of forgiveness. Additionally loft is a touch stronger, so you'll get a bit more distance.

MMCs have better feel/sound and a touch more distance in longer irons than MP-25, but both are great otherwise.

I play MP-25, have demoed MP-18 MMC and play the MMC fli hi long irons.

 

MP 25s have a longer blade length, it gives me a lot of confidence as I’m only playing a couple times a week.

 

MP 25s have a narrower sole, allowing them to have better turf interaction.

 

MMC Fli hi keep the ball on line better then the MP 25s

 

Flight, distance, spin, feel are all very similar.

 

You will be very happy either way. If you like narrow soled irons, then get the 25s. If you like them a little thicker, then get the 18s
