Miura MC 501 Blades - might be the best looking clubs ever

I saw these last night in person. They look awesome. They looked pretty small(I play epon 705, so big size difference) though, so I didnt try hitting them. Maybe next time I will though

I got a set about a month ago. But with winter I have only been able to hit them on a trackman indoors. SO far they are amazing. I know this has been pointed out numerous times, but my dispersion is so tight with these irons. Going to FL for a week after xmas and cannot wait to get them out on the course.

they don't/won't disappoint. hands down best irons i've owned (which is saying something given how many specialized sets over the years).

The irons are awesome, I’m coming from P750s and these things are butter compared to that. They aren’t Uber soft, but you definitely get a lot more feedback from them.

 

Clean setup with a tad more aggressive offset progression from PW down to the long irons. To be fair I was fit into the irons so they suit me, but I don’t think one would be disappointed with these in the bag

How do the wedges play?

They are pretty awesome. Feel extremely soft and spin well. I'm pretty pleased no complaints except the price tag lol good thing for black Friday.

Miura's in general aren't marshmallow soft. They have a firmer "thwap" than I expected when I first hit them, particularly when compared to my Epons. That said, I just bought my second set of Miuras so ...

Anybody hit them? How hard are they to hit compared to AP2?

 

While I haven’t hit them against my 718 AP2’s here are a few side by side pictures. I don’t have a 4 iron AP2 so I added my 5 iron and my 4 TM-B.

I was hoping to read some more reviews on these - specifically from anyone who has played AP2s or JPX 900 Tours and how these compare. I recently switched to the new Miura wedges and like them a lot. The MC-501s look absolutely stunning!

Based on reviews, I heard they play similar ie MB 001 and the MC 501. You can go the combo route that I am going, an MB 001/MC 501 combo.

I got a raw set of these from Will Peoples. They are beautiful looking clubs with amazing feel, great sole grind, and very playable for any level of ball striker. Sadly I am a high spin iron player, so just like the AP2, I spin these too much to be ideal for me. Haven't decided if I will keep them around as a back up set or sell them just because they feel so pure and look so good. I would think if you get along with the AP2 you would get along well with the MC-501.

 

Would you consider just strengthening the lofts?

Golf Course Designer Rob Collins (Sweetens Cove etc.) posted this picture of his new set of National Custom irons.. I guess this is the outfit Don White of MacGregor fame has been associated with.. (As it you couldn't tell by the back of the blade design homage).

 

I must say they are rather nice... Apparently he's pretty happy with them too.
