Taylormade M3 & M4 not selling?

I own both a G400 Max and a M4. Both are 10.5* stiff. The M4 has been getting the most use because I control it a wee bit better. Both are excellent drivers. I'm happy to have either one. They are my top 2 favorite drivers this year. I'm not one to "throw a product under the bus" because it doesn't work for me, it might work great for someone else. I truly haven't hit any sub par product in years. All of the manufacturers are making excellent product no matter what their technology focus is.

I'm currently gaming the M4 and liking it. Long and finding lots of fairways. Last year the Epic was the clear favorite in bags at my club. This year M3/M4 are in more bags. Very popular.

Imo anyone who hasn't tried an m3/m4 hasn't read thought the fitting experience thread on here about them. Die to this thread I tried them out and purches an m3 woth tensei pro white.

Twist face may not be for everyone but since putting the m3 in my bag every errant shot has ended up closer to the fairway than expected.

This.

If you are one that typically misses on the toe with an open face. You may not be the best fit for Twist face. If you are one who’s typical miss is on the heel with a open face or on the toe with a closed face or you consistently find the center of the face, this driver should be a must try.

Coming from hitting mostly high draws in 2017 with Fusion and Epic, the 3-5 yard M4 fade took a while to get use to but my misses are seldom more than a few yards off the fairway.

What’s truly amazing —— just how good the M4 16.5* 3HL is.

I can honestly say I have not seen one M3 or M4 in bag this year, however I see a lot of 2017 M2s and 2016 M1s still in bags. IMO I think it is the price tag. The 2016-17 models were very good and can be had at a really good price right now, so why spend the money. Just over $200 for a brand new 2017 M2 is a steal. Personally, it would take a tremendous gain in accuracy or distance for me to switch out of my 2016 M2. I tried the 2017 M2 but I was always fighting going left with it, whereas I don't with the 2016 M2. If the 2016 M2 had the top line looks of the 2017 version or the M4 is would be a home run!

Nice that so many have replied to this, funny to see so many different situations.

I believe that here where I live, Finland, a lot of the reasons M3/M4 are not in bags is the price, and knowledge of TM's short product cycle. Everyone knows they will be 50% off next winter. And also the fact that Twistface is just not for everyone.

At the moment: M3 is 519€ = $610

And the M4 is 399€ = $470

Hi Guys,

haven't seen a single M3 or M4 driver in play at my course this year, or on any course in fact. I live in Europe so maybe this is just the situation here?

A lot of tour guys using them but they are paid to use them and can get them cherry picked custom as they prefer off the tour truck.

Have M3 & M4 flopped? M1 & M2 2016 & 2017 were really everywhere in club players bags, especially M2 2017 was a sure hit.

Have seen a lot of Rogue and G400 in the bags of normal players..

Personally I tried them both but the twistface just made my misses worst, could not game them. Do you think 2019 models will drop the Twistface or will they double down on it and take a risk?

I work at a golf course with a driving range and hardly recall seeing any M3 or M4 drivers this year. There's a reason for that......its one of the weakest offerings ever by TaylorMade. Its not junk, but close to it.

Hey man, I'm the dude

I bought an M4 2 weeks ago. Was playing 16 m2 prior. 16 m2 was 9.5 had to go to 8.5 in the m4.

M4 - THE BEST driver I've ever played. I've missed 7 total fairways the last 3 rounds I've played with it. The only shot that I have problems with, that I didn't have with the 16 m2, is the teed down low cut (I mean having the ball no more than 1 inch off the grass top). That tee height is used for a low controlled cut, usually into the wind on a hole where a 3wood will leave me with too much into the green. The 16 m2 was a guaranteed cut. I've pulled that shot 3 times now with the m4. It wants to go dead straight with the m4.

I'm a TM guy. Started with the M4 and didn't like the way it sounded or felt at all. Quickly switched to the M3, which I actually liked a lot. Recently went to the G400 Max and I'm hitting the driver better than ever. I'll try the latest TM offerings, but the Max will be really hard to beat.

With that said, 7 of the 8 guys in my normal group are playing a mix of the M2/M4.

At my club, Ping is king so you see a ton of those. Titleist is second and Callaway is third. I'm one of the few TM driver users there and I won't be upgrading this year unless something happens to my M3. If I do see a TM driver, it's usually the M2. Not many people buy new every year there and the pros at my club are all non-contract except for the head pro who is on PING staff so you see a wide variation in what people play.

I have G400 Max too. I hit it really well. Usually very playable but I am tempted because I know other drivers could pick me up a few more yards. Question is whether or not it's worth missing fairways...

Probably not
