Which clubs will you never sell? Why?

Wow.... where do I start?

TA 845s... both stainless and BeCu 2 - Sw and 3 - pw respectively

Ping Eye 2s 2 - lw

Mizuno T-Zoid Pro.... 2 - pw.... 1st set of custom fit/built irons ... they are like butter,, still play them once in a while

Topflite Tour irons 2 - pw M and S wedge.... nothing special really but they were part of my 1st staff deal after turning pro...(free too)

Last but definitely not least my 60+ boatload of putters.... nothing really special about them but for some reason I don't sell or trade putters.. I just get new ones.... I lied .....one of them is special .... the wife bought me a putter from a sporting goods store out of an old wooden barrel for $5 about 35 years ago... no name... ,modeled after a Ping B60...when I am really putting badly I bring it out and make everything with it for about 5 rounds then it goes south and I put it back in time out.

By the way I found the secret to getting clubs and not catching sh-t from the wife.... buy them... put them in the trunk of the car and don't let her see them for s couple months and when she does you can truthfully say.... oh those honey... Ive had them for months.......works every time

Peace

Driver .....TM M2  12* ... Stock shaft Reg.

3 Wood...TM M2 HL 16*..stock reg shaft

7 Wood  TM  M2... stock shaft reg.

Hybrids....Adams.... A3OS Boxer  3-4-5 hybrids..Grafalloy  platinum Reg flex

Cobra F7 one length irons..... 6 - SW .. ...shafts.. Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue Axis @ 37.5"

Putter (varies) currently Custom made Starship model

Peace....  Update... 69 yrs old shot 68 this summer(2021)... God I love this game...

Which clubs will you never sell and why?

Besides my worthless persimmon woods collection, I swear I will never sell these as much as I can, they have very little value anyway.

Bridgestone J33 CB Irons - fitted for me and played for about 10 years, just resting right now

Tommy Armour 845 Irons Silver Scot - 1st real set of irons circa 1990

2 Slighter Seattle putters - one prototype for Blade golf and one custom made gift from my wife and son

My old Ping Anser 3 putter - first putter i bought late 80s

TM Ardmore 3 TP Copper - gift from my wife

Everything else is fair game.

Anser with the sound slot--Early version I picked up in a trade for nothing. Just like the history of it. Adams A-4 forged irons. Classics that my son will take and keep forever. All four TP Mills putters. Two of them Mizuno's-- One Anvil Series and a David Mills.

My Old Ping Eye 2s....just love the look and feel.

I feel the same. I learned to play on a cut-down set of Golfsmith knockoffs (XPC 2000s) and the Ping Eye 2 just feel right. I've experimented with others but I will always keep my black dots. Nothing seems to match their feel.

I sold my eye 2 square grooves and kept my isi nickels............the lofts changed after the eye 2's.....hit the eye 2's slightly more consistently.

Hard to say as I hate keeping “extra clubs.” Probably my M1 17 3 wood as I finally found a good 3 wood combo. Someone here recommended the PX Black 76gram and it’s been a monster.

Also my Toulon Memphis tour issue and a Scotty AOP NP2 oval track. Very cool unique putter and I am a betti guy usually.

I have a set of left handed Wilson Staff FG 62’s that I will never sell. They are hard to find and mine were bought brand new and are still perfect.I don’t play them all the time but when I do, I have the most fun. There are lefties at my club that have offered me more than what I payed for them and I would never sell them.

  • 7 months later...

MacGregor Vfoil custom. Too many good memories and 4 aces from that set.

Slighter Redmond putter...has my boys names on the bottom and I ordered it when my youngest was sick in the hospital for two months. It’s a reminder of what’s really not replaceable

What are they? If I remember correctly, mine were Cougar irons and woods (persimmon). Moved to Tommy Armour Silver Scot 845s after those. I still have the 845s and consider them my first real set...

I have quite a few very beloved clubs. None of them are worth much as far as money goes but they're priceless to me.

The main one is my dad's old 3 wood. It's one of the old school Daiwas from the early 80s. Dad won it in some tournament back in the day - he was a damn fine player - and it was his favorite club. He went through clubs probably more than I do but he never even thought of getting rid of that one. He called it "The Black Snake" and man, he could stripe the motherfucker off the tee like nobody's business. It lives in a display case on my wall.

Then there's his Yonex driver. Another one of his favorites. I honestly don't remember him playing any driver but that one - I also remember him thinking he was real cool around his buddies with their old school persimmons and he was rockin the Yonex. Still working out a way to have that in a nice display.

Then there's the set of Lynx Black Cats he got me for Christmas in probably 1994 or 1995. It's the last set of clubs he bought me and while I haven't put them into play in about 20 years, I'll never get rid of them.

I also have my old Odyssey putter from my high school golf team days. Many a great putt was made with that old thing.

Then there's my Mizuno Nick Faldo 52° wedge from probably around 1995 or so. I'll still put that guy into play every so often.
