I don't think he's done at all. If you just want to look at if he will win another major, it would be a good time to remind people that he has only been beaten by 14 individuals cumulatively in his five Masters appearances.

hes not done, but majors may be gone. he was winning in a period without superstars. JT was not winning, DJ had drug and family issues, Tiger was not playing, Rose was flighty, etc. etc. i think he has a great future, but the competition is too thick for his game IMHO.

lol. You boys forget that the masters is a major ? He’s nearly won what. 4 straight ? Come on. No way he doesn’t contend and win at Augusta until he’s 50 barring life changing Illness or injury ( train wreck or skydiving accident for example ). That’s 25 more years.

He could have won the open in 2018 if he hadn’t hit that 3 wood into the bush and made even 1 putt on the back. We forgot that ? Really ignorant question by the golf Chanel.

Exactly. Can any player living or dead say that ? That’s a challenge to the stats guys. Stats make me hurt. So I can’t look up that many numbers lol.

He will win more majors, I would think. But he will finish with around 8-10 career majors, at most.

He caught lightning in a bottle in 2015, making 27.19% of putts from 15-25 feet. That's the highest percentage anyone has ever achieved, since they started keeping the stat in 2004. And Spieth hasn't been able to duplicate that since.

He is not overwhelmingly talented enough to dominate today's Tour. But I definitely see him being a staple in the top 15 over the next 10 years.

His greatest asset is his mind, in my opinion. He is a very critical thinker and he seems to really care about doing well, which will serve him very well.

Not a JS fan but have to respect his iron game is good and like many other tour players, when the putter is hot he is seriously contending for the win in any tournament. When he is playing with confidence he is very hard to beat; not too many other players in that category.

One of my favorite golf stories of last year was when he admitted he was working on the wrong thing for a long time; that's hilarious at that level, but also very much human.

So will he win again at the 2015 clip/rate? Of course not. Will he win another major? Likely yes, and likely at Augusta. He just needs to stop being so cute on the 12th hole!

He suffered from a balky putter, which is/was his strong suit. I'm fairly certain, with as much talent as he has and his mental game, he will figure the putting problem out and return to winning. Now that's as far as his game is concerned, but now that he's married and presumably a family may be on the agenda, that can have an effect on his game. But as has been posted, this coming year will be a possible blueprint for the coming future.

Nothing like a little early season majors talk to stir up the pot, right GC? I'm already giddy thinking about this years Masters. If Reed's bff Spieth is in contention, or Rory is looking at a slam, or if Tiger is lurking on Sunday, last year's record 239 page Masters thread will surely be eclipsed. Is it April yet?

I'm not a stats guy but they can tell a story. In JS case

His putting stat evolution is a Horror Novel!

Still a very dangerous player but something is up and hope he gets a handle on it.

The putting was grim last year, there is no getting away from that but Jordan Spieth done? You have got to be kidding me! I was hoping that 2019 would be the year that the idiots would finally give up the ghost but once again I was wrong.

Not even a chance.

And at the same time of course not at the 2015 pace.

But it's not like he was ever a flash in the pan he has the classic blueprint for a modern tour player and he has experience of winning that he can always draw on. When will the next hot streak come? could be 5 years at which point he is still young.

Yep. But the outliers are the terrible ones. He hasn’t forgot how. It will come back. And I really don’t think him being too putter in most stats again is a thing he can’t do.

Stat I want to see is first 5 masters. How does jack tiger and Rory , maybe Norman and Phil stack up against Jordan vs their fields ? Poster above says Jordan was only bested by 14 players total for 5 masters. That’s pretty high level business. No ?

And happy new year to you too buddy ! Tiger !!

I was watching Morning Drive this morning and the question at hand was, "is Jordan Spieth done?". Was his record breaking run a fluke, or all he's got in him? Personally, I don't think so. Please share your thoughts.

False.

And there was nothing along the lines of his run being a "fluke" at all.

The question was "Have we seen the best of Jordan Spieth?" and the discussion was hardly whether he's done, won't win again, won't win majors, etc. - premise of the thread is simply wrong. They discussed, kind of, his putting woes, what's in his head, etc. really not much in depth at all, but hardly in the context of whether he is "done".

Fair question - he accomplished a lot in a short time, will it continue as it had before his recent slump, so to speak, certainly been talked about for months already.

Thread got changed to spell his name right, now let's get the basis of the thread right, too! Really not too much to ask that it be fairly portrayed.

Yeah, Tigerrrrrrr!

Now, consider this "bested by" stat. Phil was only bested by 6 players in 6 US Opens. But he has none ; )

And more bizarro stats from Jordan's putting,

2015

Putts Per Round, 1st

Putting from 3ft, 33rd

2016

Putts Per Round, 1st

Putting from 3ft, 85th

2017

Putts Per Round, 16th

Putting from 3ft, 7th

2018

Putts Per Round, 83rd

Putting From 3ft 181st

Golf Channel asked a question that none of us can answer. We say he is done then Jordan wins a major this year. Then what. Kind of hard to count some one out who has won them already. Either way, he holds more majors then most if not a lot of the Golf channel guys.
