At least TM is keeping the same model name for a second generation.

    That’s the real side stamp.

What you can’t see is that the TP5X lettering font is shorter and lines up across in height with the arrow

This is DJ’s ball not the new ball. Side stamps are completely different.

That was with wedges. With the driver it is 30-40 yards longer. I was averaging 363 off the tee into the wind with the new one. Not bad for a guy with a SS of 105mph.

It will be hard to top the current line of TP5 & TP5x golf balls. Only thing close for me is the Bridgestone line in terms of feel and playability, for my game.

    A couple of questions:

    1. Has the “new” ball been released already, or know when it will be?

    2. Will the packaging be different, so the “new” ball is easily recognisable?

    Thanks

There is a picture of the new box earlier in this thread. It has changed a little but only a little.

Thanks. Is there a release date? I would like to buy a few dozen of the new TP5’s when they’re released and could stand to wait until the end of January

Yellow is doable. The 2017 TP5/TP5x balls were available in Japan in yellow.

I really need these in my life.

I was actually lucky enough to be the winner of Taylormade’s Instagram competition to win a years supply (however many that may be).

Wondering what model of TP5x it will be. Either way, I’m extremely lucky and happy!

Assumption of previous years model but, I have been fooled before. TM does give the occasional hook up.

I figure that too. As soon as they run out I’ll be onto the new model. I love the current TP5x, and after this they’ve definitely won me over.

I know nothing about the new model but I'm pretty happy with the $10 discount on the older TP5x. I have already bought 6 dozen. That should last me for a good bit this spring/summer.

Given the talk about durability of the current TP5/TP5x as it relates to scuffs and shearing, I thought I'd post this info from the product launch event I attended in late November. The 2019 ball has a much improved paint system. It now moves with the cover at closer to the same rate during impacts, so the paint is less likely to shear off.

TaylorMade engineers did most of their testing by firing balls at cart path materials, before building a contraption that could simulate the effect in the same way.

I've hit the ball, but haven't had a chance to look into the claims that durability has been increased, so for now I can only go by what I was told.
