Bought a Foresight GCQuad today(update 7/23, it has arrived!)

Im pretty excited about it. I have a fair amount of knowledge regarding overhead simulators and 100's of hours spent on them analyzing ball data, but have only seen this unit in action twice. Its amazing. It will be used outdoors in the summer, and indoors as a full golf sim with projector, screen & computer in the winter.

So those of you with more use of this unit(or have one) have any advice or thoughts? How safe is the backpack it comes with? Should i get something stronger to protect it when not in use? Any recurring glitch type things that happen?

Thanks

Quick question, but did you buy directly through them? I've been looking to see actual costs and payment options. Does FS finance?

WOW! Congrats man. I watch a lot YouTube golf channels and all the best have the GCQuad and it seems easy to use, easily portable ect.

Looking forward to hearing some feedback after you get it.

Congrats. Can you provide some insights into the purchase process? Are there any special considerations in regards to setup/software etc...?

Thank you. Not really any special considerations after deeming this the right unit for indoor & outdoor portable use. Not yet anyway. the putting software is additional and courses are a la carte style. Time will tell if the putting software is worth it. I havent seen much of that aspect yet.

As for setup, the pro is that you need virtually no space indoors as its a side camera. Con is having a righty & lefty play at the same time is not really doable efficiently.

I’ve found the buying/financing information is pretty vague and limited on the interwebz

If I had the extra $ I'd without a doubt buy one. It seems to be the best inside/outside unit, and 1/2 the price of a Trackman....no brainer.

Did you happen to get the putting program, and simulator modes? Not sure what comes with an initial purchase, or if its an add on (regardless even if it is an add on again a no brainer for what it can do)? I'd love to get one and set it up as an indoor simulator during the winter months. Plus it seems so easy to use on the go, just pick it up, set it down and use for whatever you want, just super portable.

Enjoy man must be a lot of fun :drinks:

EDIT: Forgot to mention the FSX Challenge, that looks way fun too. Just a great device.

Great buy - congrats!!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts over time and you get some experience with the features and software.

I have to say, the purchase price / purchase process / cost of additional options / licensing / support, etc. seems to be very vague with these products. So vague IMO that it actually becomes a barrier to entry for purchase.

It makes you wonder, do they sell at a spot price and every buyer pays a slightly different price based on timing and leverage? Does everyone sign some sort of iron clad NDA when they purchase on of these things? I find it so odd.

Can somebody please spill the beans on the whole process?

It's not hard just contact foresight and a sales rep will respond and will give you all the pricing options and you purchase it. Pretty simple honestly. I however do not like their licensing model but, now everything involves licensing and more licensing. Also don't like the fact the quad has bluetooth locked down and forces you into their fsx software. I've almost bought it a few times to upgrade the gc2 but, that keeps me from doing it.

I guess that's exactly my point. I'm in sourcing, and I know what 'contact the sales rep and get the price' vs. 'see the prices and options on the website' typically means.

I've bought complex electronics before where the purchase price (never listed, always in discussion) has been $18K per unit, and then we talk, and then based on sales cycle, company health, lunar alignment, etc. we might end up talking $11K or we might end up still talking around 18...

Although I often benefit from the vagueness in my professional life, in my personal life I actually prefer the simple transparency of knowing what things cost and knowing that I didn't pay more than the last 3 people who called.
