They were rumored to be testing the waters with a personalized ball fitting. Given you had to buy something ridiculous like 200 dozen but you went through a several-day fitting and had the ball built exactly to your specifications.

 

They would even submit it to the conforming list so it could be played in tournaments.

This is the serial number from the Vapor Fly TW. I’m a long time Nike Golf fan and collector and have never seen an OBJ serial number. Anyone have any info on where this club may have come from?

Hmmm I think my oven tw vapor speed is an OBj serial. I may have to go look and make sure.

That would be pretty cool. I haven’t been able to find much out about the back story of the club. Another user said they have a Vapor Fly hybrid that has an OBJ serial number and that the hybrid is a tour issue. But I would like to know what OBJ means or signifies.

Here's my theory for the OBJ serial numbers.

 

AJXXXXX = american market

JXXXXXX = Japan market

OBJXXXXX = Oven Built --off a japan market head.

 

the stuff sold in japan are higher quality in terms of being closer to spec. less imperfections blah blah blah

Couldn€™t get the link to open, finally did. Didn€™t see anything about the OBJ serial in that thread. Just a lot of uncertainty around what Nike used to signify a tour issue product.

I just purchased a set of two Vapor Fly TW Heads. One is 380 CC and one is 440 CC. Will send pics when they arrive. Does anybody know which head size was on the conforming list?
