new st190 driver review

He’s a pretty good athlete. Tall and strong. Played college golf at Georgia then lower tours. Second season on the PGA Tour.

Itching to try this but may have to do some miles. Not many people take a risk on Mizuno woods in my neck of the woods. Looks fantastic and so do the fws..

Obviously Mizzy marketing, so of course the player likes it. However, driver does look nice and it sounds pretty nice too. At this point with drivers it's all in the little stuff like looks, sound, etc. Perhaps if you tend to strike the ball in a certain place (like a little low of center) you'd want to focus on drivers with lower CGs and vice versa.

 

Biggest downside is places like GG and PGATSS don't tend to carry drivers from Mizuno, so demo'ing can be tough. May require a blind buy.

Like a few others have said... Mizuno has the same problem as Srixon that it's near impossible to find a retailer that stocks so that we can demo before buying.

really? could've sworn i saw both the 180 drivers at pgatss and gg last season in paramus. you're in jersey right?

Agreed. They have them at PGATSS here in Dallas. However, I did not see them at GG, and if you search their site, only irons and a pair of socks are listed.

They share with you the detailed Trackman numbers, but there is zero in the way of actual driver specifics. No shaft info, Keith eludes to hot melt but there is no further exploration of why (so no club head weighting info), Chris doesn't speak to the improvements made in this iteration of driver, etc.

 

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations...

GG will not carry any of the a woods. just the irons.

Keith plays with HZRDUS T1100 with front/toe hotmelt. He had the highest average swing speed on tour last year

I think the video is aimed at a wider audience than WRX, hence the normal speak and not techie talk. I could be mistaken in my assumption though.
