I did not hit them but I feel like the general consensus from most people I talked to was that the 714s were better

Owned the 714s and hit both. Both were fine, and felt very similar and performed very similar. I never understood the love affair with either iron. I think 714 wins on bag appeal, which is often a silly consideration but probably the only significant distinction.

Much preferred the 716. Tried the 714 twice, just didn't work out for me and the feel of the 716 are much better IMO.

I’ve owned every iteration from the originals through the 718.

 

I only still own one set.

714 way better than 716

718 just as good as 714 if not slightly like real slightly better. This my opinion anyway.

714’s were perhaps the best, until the 718’s came out.

 

716’s were right behind the 714’s, and I liked them enough to sell them to my brother when I got the 718’s.

 

I think the 718’s are the best yet.

Ive hit all 3 and I feel it goea 714, 718, 716. Couple playing buddies wont part with their 714s.

When I was looking for a new set of AP2’s to replace my 710’s last year I ended up picking the 714’s. I’ve demo’d or used every generation and between the 714’s, 716’s, and 718’s, there wasn’t much difference for me. The 718’s were out because I normally don’t buy clubs that just came out. I got a really good deal on a set of 714’s in great condition with the shafts I wanted. The 716’s I looked at were either beat up or cost more than I was willling to spend. To be honest though, I think I was leaning toward the 714’s anways based off of all the reviews and comments people were saying about this topic

COG on the 714 is lower than 718. I didn't find the 718 all that forgiving for my swing. Have an easier time hitting my MP32 which in theory at least should be a fair bit less forgiving. 714 are the best looking and feeling IMO. Still considering grabbing a set instead of my i200. Addicted to the forged feel now after the Mizunos spoiled me.

Does anyone else feel that the 718 AP2 heads seem heavy? Or is this an AP2 thing and they have all been that way? I’ve owned 2 sets of 718’s and have sold both because I can’t stand the feel of how heavy they’ve felt.

I hit them with KBS tour which is higher balance point and the head doesn't feel as heavy. Hit the 718 today with the KBS and numbers were as good as my i200 with better feel. There are sets near me of 714 and 716 with KBS. Not sure which to go for...
