They're on golfworks site.. anyone that can order wholesale won't be able to order them till end of feb or first part of March.

We can order them we just pay retail. I logged into my trade account and see they are available.

Correct, but I talked to Golfworks yesterday and they said they wouldn’t have any in stock to sell to trade accounts or to the public till mid feb-first week of March.

Can't argue with that logic.

I just ran into this thread. What Biggem was asking for was a 360° with cord under the top hand. Why is that impossible?

Originally he said he wanted a 360 half cord and I pointed out that Golf Pride has traditionally considered a half cord grip one that has cord on the underneath half of the grip.

These new Velvet +4 grips look great, but I only hope the underside of the grip has zero logos or writing. Like others, I like prefer to install all my grips logo down, and can't stand to look at any patterns, logos, etc...

Yea apparently that’s too difficult for some to comprehend. They’ve seen the old victory grip that’s corded on one side and now they can’t understand there’s a couple ways to refer to a grip in “halves”. A simple google search of “half cord golf grips” shows a ton of NDMC style grips referred to as half cord.

It's not too difficult to understand. It is apparently hard for you to understand the joke. Golf Pride actually has made a lot of grips in the past that they called half cord and when you look at those it's funny to think about offering them in a 360 design.

Well today other brands refer to a top hand portion only cord as a half cord grip. I can only remember 1 or maybe 2 styles that that had the underside cord and most people can determine that wouldn’t be what was referred to as being made into a 360 design.

Half cord is cord on the underside only running lengthwise, end of discussion. Just my $.02. If you grew up playing golf in the 70s 80s or 90s you undoubtedly feel the same way.

I have been playing since the late 60’s and do not recall your version of half cord. We all played full cord green Victory’s.

They had them and anyone with common sense would know that wouldn’t be a proper 360 grip along with the fact that today many manufacturers make a half cord that references the butt end half of the grip.

heard a well-informed source state that this will be introduce at the PGA Show in January, and available to OEMs shortly thereafter.

if it's true, it'd be the ideal grip for a lot of us that like the MCC Plus4 reduced taper profile, but want that feel of Tour Velvet.

can someone please confirm or deny this grip is coming to market?

cheers!

OMG that would be so sweet! I play MCC plus 4 for the size but love the feel of tour velvet. Homerun if this comes true!

They're wrong.

It changed

Golf Pride no longer makes a half cord. They don't even use the wording. Closest you are going to get is the word 'hybrid.'

I remember the 1/2 cord Victory and Tour Wrap...never really understood them. IMO, the New Decade style 1/2 cord makes more sense.

When you think of it, you are quite right. It likely was because it was easier for GP to do it that way and not changing the tooling too much from making full cords. I wonder who at GP came up with the MCC design and whether the got a promotion?
