Apex 16 to Apex 19 worth the upgrade???

Hi guys, been playing the Apex cf16 since they came out and love them, my set is really beat up now after these past years of play and now I have to make a choice....

Either getting the new Apex 19 combo or going for a mint set of Apex 16 combo that I’m getting quite a good deal for!

Price for the new Apex is quite steep and I don’t want to spend that much money on a new model that may perform the same as the current.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on the matter!

Thanks!

I went back to my CF 16/Pro combo from a new set i got fit for with a more pleasing topline, only thing i felt with the 16 Apex combo was the top lines where too big a difference to be a combo like the Mizuno's but i cant argue with the results, i look forwrd to trying the 19's but enjoying the 16 combo too much right now to be fussed

If you’re grooves are already worn on the CF16 or you’re just itching for something new I think they’re a worthwhile replacement the little bit I hit them. I may be mistaken with more testing but it seemed I was getting a touch more spin than I did with the CF16 but it was probably just that day as there’s no reason they’d spin more.

Side by side blind test you’d probably not notice any difference.

I played the CF16’s off and on for the last two years and I think the CF19’s are an upgrade. The feel is softer and the sound is more solid as well. I also think they frame the ball mich better. More of a players club look at address. Of course, all in my opinion.

Distance was equal, but For me, feel is a top priority so it was worth the upgrade and my order has been placed.

You probably wont get many, if any, good answers for another month. Very few ppl have hit or have the 19's yet. I hit the pro 7i for about 5 minutes and it was sweet, but I couldnt tell you the difference though without some actual testing. It was more spinny than the Rogue Pro, that I can say for sure. Its also probably a little longer than the Apex 16 pro due to the micro-sphere thing.

I hit both the Apex and the Apex Pro yesterday. They feel great. I preferred the feel of the pro, but honestly, neither was that much difference in feel to me over the Rogue Pro I am playing. The looks of the Pro were nicer that the Rogue Pro. Apex and Rogue Pro are pretty much the same size. I played the Apex 16 and the Apex Pro in the past. The 2019 models to me are nicer looking, but perform the same for me.

I will wait for them to end up on CPO and probably get a set of Apex Pro later in the year just because.

All that said, I think the Rogue Pros were the most underrated club last year.

If you had to choose between Apex 16 or Rogue Pro?

I hit the both 19 models, definite improvement in feel. I don’t know what there’ll be a massive difference in performance, probably incremental at best.

The question comes down to your prioritization of feel v. cost.

That is a hard one as they are both great clubs and so similar. I would probably pick the Rogue Pros.

I would have to say whichever you can get the best deal on. I really like both.
