OP read the rules, how they are written, not how you think they SHOULD be written. Close this thread, it’s ridiculous

Feedback score of 7, member since 2008. Say no more

So because he hasn't made enough purchases to satisfy your personal metric for B&S feedback rating, you would dismiss his opinions?

Maybe "say no more" is something you should make a personal motto.

I would, yes.

I've DM'd a member after sale to see what a club eventually went for as I was considering selling the same driver.

He obliged and I'm sure most others on here would too.

This. I've done this a few times too and have had members message me.

I'm guilty of replacing the price with "SOLD" but I will tell anyone what it sold for, whenever they PM'ed me with that question. It does happen several times.

What bugs me more is when the sellers removes the pictures after it is sold. I always leave my pictures up until the buyer receives their items so they can look at them if needed.

Having a price on a closed or sold item is irrelevant when making a new deal since the majority of the items sold on the bst are never at the stated price. Also, what one seller sells for does not mean another will sell for the same price and vice versa for a buyer. What a buyer purchased at doesn’t mean you will be able to purchase the same one for the same price.

Do your due diligence and research to obtain a proper asking or selling price and take it from there.

As for pictures, if you’re the one making that purchase save the pictures on your computer for reference. Don’t expect a seller to keep it in the ad because it does take up allotted space.

Bingo. I think the only people upset by this are those low ballers/dreamers who think because one person may have sold something well below market price, that the same item will always sell for that price.

"I'll give you half your asking price, look I found this one deal where some guy basically gave the stuff away, you should give your stuff away too!"

Just to wrap this up (this exact thread has shown up over and over again)

There is no rule stating it has to be left up.

Buyers will definitely ignore the SOLD beside the price and send Pm’s

The asking price usually is not what the item sold for

Check sold/completed listings on eBay for pricing help, or if you really have to PM the seller and ask what it sold for.

Rule 6 says you aren’t su-ppsed to delete content. So, indeed, deleting list price, or anything else besides pictures, from sold ads IS a violation.

“DO NOT DELETE THE CONTENT OF YOUR LISTING WHEN YOU SELL AN ITEM OR CLOSE THE LISTING. Closed listings will be moved to the BST Archive Forum for future reference. You may, however, delete the photograph attachments to listings.‘

If you had a list price, which is required also, it is included in the “content of your listing”

People deleting prices after sale are in violation and should be reported and listing privileges revoked.

People should be reported and have their listing privy revoked? You can’t be serious? Bottom line is, it is nobody’s business other than the buyer’s and seller’s what an item sells for or is listed for. I can’t believe the actions some of you want taken against fellow members so people will conform to what you want for your own personal gain. It’s a shame to see such selfish attitudes on here.

Also, nowhere does it state to leave the price. That is your interpretation

It's no one's business what an item is listed for? Isn't that the whole point here? If it's no one's business what an item is listed for, why require an asking price per the BST rules?

Again, if you notice the word $old, why wouldn't you notice SOLD $400 o/b/o?

That this is your response shows you don't get the purpose of bst

LOL this gets exhausting to answer every few months. Because its mostly the same people complaining that people who update their price to say sold are breaking rules and that by not suspending them that mods are somehow complicity in rule breaking.

Updating a sale price to say "SOLD" has not now - nor has ever been - DELETING THE CONTENT OF YOUR LISTING. For a lot of good reasons that have all been talked about here.

We get it. The same cleverness comes out over and over again. Please stop.

I look forward to posting on this exact same topic two months from now.
