New PXG prototype driver

It's a PING copy with twice the price tag

And really, if you care about mass properties and the actual performance of a club, the new PXG's are (reportedly) dissimilar from what PING currently has on the market. One of these new PXG drivers has (reportedly) a higher MOI than any PING offering, and the other PXG has a vastly lower center of gravity.

I'm all for merited PXG critique, but yeah...

...two strikes.

This guy shows to bash in every PXG thread.

Actually I have said a few good things as really I'm surprised that how easy it is to justify a purchase when the newer stuff comes out when it's no better than the previous model. Never hear much about the Sugar Daddy wedges why is that? Anyhow glad PXG is your club of choice. If the Hero's program was offered when I bought my last set I may have bought a set but I was fitted and very pleased except for the price I paid. Oh well, I don't care how people spend their money as we all work hard for our money.

It's a PING copy with twice the price tag

What is the price of the new PXG drivers?

(HINT: It's not twice the cost of a PING.)

Just shows the validity of the post. Nothing but a PXG hater looking for crumbs!!!!

Some of the R & D team left PING for PXG so there are some similarity's as I had to throw that in there about being a PING knockoff since they Bob tried his best to throw a lawsuit at TaylorMade's P790's irons and failed. Actually there is no driver out there worth $500 so it's just a statement so keep your crumbs as you might need them being a PXG FAN Boy.

While there may be similarities those engineers now have free reign with their designs. It may not be worth it to you but that doesn't mean it's not worth it to someone else.

As far as I know the pxg vs Tm lawsuit is still going on so how can you say it was a fail.

You'll see as Round 1 was. I know it's still going on but not going the way Bob wants it to go. I'm sure there has been many other lawsuits in the past with other major brands as it's all such a big circus.

You want people to spend their cash however they'd like, but you are surprised when golfers justify their wants to buy a new driver? Huh?

Oh I am definitely a PXG fan as they are great clubs. But I post facts and not senseless rambling that has no truth to it !!!!

What works for some doesn't for other's. What are facts to some are opinions to others. It's more upsetting to PXG owners who like the Gen 1's over the Gen 2's. I'm talking about people who have owned both sets too. For someone who doesn't want to hear it then it seems like senseless rambling but for those who took the time out and did their own research don't allow the truth or someone's opinion get them all upset. They are not bad clubs it's just that they are the most controversial clubs out there and you know that and should be used to it when people flame as it will go on for a very long time until someone else comes out with a new brand with jacked up prices. Too many people buy into the hype as I'm just as guilty so if your happy that is all that matters.

The only that I said negative to maybe most were if I were to spend the kind of money on Gen's 2's I would consider a set of Epon's, Miura's or some other JDM name brand. If the Hero's program were available when I bought my set I may have bought a set of the Gen 1's. We all work hard for our money and I'm not trying too single any one person out and I don't care how people want to spend their money as there are a lot of haters out there as I'm just in the middle.

Wow I see you now have the Adams Launch lab as I wish I never sold mine, it was the snake skin design with a Japan Fuji Platinum shaft. Not the most forgiving driver but Wow! it's was long and super nice looking. Looking to hear a full report on this new PXG driver.

I’m looking forward to these reviews!!!

The M5 woods and PXG woods are at the top of my list for consideration.

If its a toss-up probably go with PXG as resale should be better and that is an important consideration for a WRX ho.

Really not interested in anything else at this time. If what I am reading about the new PXG woods is true they are going to be a significant improvement for PXG and should be much better received with sales increasing.

Yes, the reviews will be important to me as well.

It's a PING copy with twice the price tag

$500 for Ping

$575 for PXG

My mistake as I thought they would have been much more as both are over priced

You should take the time you’re using to follow this thread and use it instead to write both manufactures a strongly worded letter to that effect. Make sure and cc every other major manufacturer of golf clubs as they are all within $75 of that number.

I've hit the Epic Flash SZ and it feels horrible and sounds terrible, pushed me into trying the PXG drivers. People are going to be surprised how good the X performs.

Your so right on the Adams Launch Lab, very long but not the most forgiving. I also have the PXG 0811X with a Graphite Design DI6 that isn't quite as long but more consistent / accurate. I alternate between the 2 and have been for a while. When my timing is on ( which it has been for a couple of months ) I'll go with the Adams, otherwise it's the PXG. Hopefully the Gen 2 0811X will be as long as Adams and as consistent as the Gen 1 0811X.
