Yessssss love it.

 

I had the chance to hit Accra shafts for the first time in 2018. I think they are some of the best feeling shafts I've ever swung. It's between them and VA Composites, although I just saw Oban is now back in the game. Still after all these years, the HB is still making a mark in my bag.

I had a chance to chat with Reid at Accra yesterday. They are extremely excited about the Tz5 and Tz6. I think they think this one is a home run. "Smoother mid section" was the response. If that is true, I don't know who is going to compete with ACCRA this year. They already owned the smooth space in golf shafts.

 

The reason I called was to ask if any of their new offerings would be "better" than my gamer, the Tour Zx 465.

During a driver fitting last year the Accra Tour Z RGP was the best feeling shaft I tried. I only went with something else because it was too expensive, but I am constantly looking on ebay for a good deal on one.

Even smoother??? I was swinging the M5 in both driver and fairway and they did not feel harsh whatsoever. Also what was neat, was even M4 felt very stable. I actually was getting better numbers with M4 than M5 off about 112mph swing that day.

I know this is likely the marketing specs, but no such thing as high low. Probably means:

 

TZ5 is low launch, low spin

TZ6 is mid launch, low-mid spin

 

Regardless I like Accra and had great results with the TourZ Extreme 465 M5. That shaft actually did raise my launch very slightly while keeping spin down.

I have a buddy in the business who had some of these with Star Wars logos on them right from ACCRA. He is hooking me up with the TZ6 and ST190 head this week or early next week.

Accra has always been made in Japan. If they are making these in house, in Kingston, that’s something new for this series of shafts. I just received a shipment of custom iron shafts from them, all made in Japan. I’ll call Ken tomorrow and inquire.

ACCRA has moved some of their manufacturing to a Japanese foundry. The Tour Z RPG are made in Japan

Based in Canada but all high end shafts of theirs are made in Japan- they don’t make any shafts in Canada.

I've been pretty impressed with the Tour Z RPG 472 I've been trying. Very smooth profile for such a stable shaft.

 

I fall into the category of needing something to provide more launch, but maintain low spin. The 472 has provided just that.

 

Curious as to what these new ones will be.
