From this list the only premium balls that will be new in 2019 are Pro V1/V1x, TP5/TP5x, and Srixon Z Star/Z Star XV. i am going to test a few older models just for comparison sake.

Though some will argue it’s not a premium, it would be valuable to compare I think.

I don’t think so. Just the new ProVs this year. I think that Titleist is going to stagger it so the can have a new ball each year without revamping every ball yearly.

Wilson FG Tour. Overlooked, excellent ball.Maxfli Ufli - can make the argument w layers and urethane.

I think maxfli has the u6 your ball right?

The newer model is called the Ufli. There's a soft and speed version. 4 piece urethane. On clearance for $16 a dozen at DSG. Great ball for the price.

2ND on the FG as well. Great ball, shame it's kind of hard to find.

There will be a new player in the USA ball market this year. Stay tuned to the PGA Show.

Oh really? :)

Yeah, I've hit a sleeve and it's solid. Not sure of the price point but I'm sure it will be less than a Pro V. If people will give them a try they'll like it, but the golf ball world is tough to make a dent in.

I guess it depends on your definition of "premium". Pretty much everything Titleist or any ball maker nowadays has excellent QA for their processes.

Now, if you wanna make a test that actually means something. I guess all you would have to do is make a test between different balls with a certain price point. That or just segregate by layers. It also depends on what you're testing for...Spin, speed, RPM, durability, etc. etc.

I meant tour level balls

Define that better.

Most players on tour use a ball because they are given an option (TP5 or TP5x, Prov1 or X, Srixon ZStar XV or Z, Chromesoft or Chromesoft X). Noone on tour uses Snell, Vice, Kirkland, Cut...yet they are all tour caliber balls. As in, they could be used with no repercussions that their current choice uses.

Don't think I'm giving you a hard time. I just wanna know what you're pursuing with a "complete test" of "premium balls" when most every ball made nowadays is premium compared to a far earlier date. Food for thought.

I guess I’m trying the top of the line ball from every manufacturer. Basically anything that will provide your level performance

The old FG tours were very good. Never tried the new ones. Used to get the ones in ‘14-15 for free. So I played them a lot.

Those were virtually identical to the ProV of that era.

I will post results. The testing will take some time as I plan to be thorough. Looks like Snell has an announcement coming up so their golf balls might be changed. I should know my full lineup after the PGA Merch Show.

Great. If you can, please do review Wilson Duo U! MSRP $40 but it's like $1/ball on ebay. I tried a few and it's awesome.

Instead he should use the newly released Wilson Duo Professional that replaced the Duo U.
