Great Odin's Raven! The Anser 2 & 4 are so clean they make me feel dirty.

 

I'm a Ping fan, but I'm going to knock them if these don't come to retail. They are obviously making clean putters that would be a big hit.

 

The fact there is a dedicated PLD head cover has me hopeful.

This has been discussed a few times. It seems most of the PING staffers who play the PLD putters have either completely flat faces or the plain horizontal milled lines on the face. I'm not really sure why they seem to prefer this, but I suspect it's because they don't really need the "forgiveness" of the TR grooves. They also may not like that the putter sounds slightly different when hit on the deeper grooves compared to the thinner spots. They probably want more consistency in sound across the face.

 

Personally I prefer the plain horizontal grooves which were from the Anser Milled line.

Yep, not surprised. I use a Scotty Newport without "face tech" and I've never rolled anything better myself. I've tried all the face tech - I make exactly zero more putts a round.

Is that really the best they could do on paint fill on a putter they set out to try and woo the best players in the world into? If someone sent me such a halfWord not allowed job I'd turn it around immediately and I suck at golf. Also I can't believe the sole wear on a couple of those Thynes. I've got a black wing style mallet I gamed for 2 years that shows no sole wear are the pros really picking these things up and putting with them that much? Or is Ping's black finish that easily wore?
