14-Year-Old Golfer - Hole In One (taped from the green)

Recommended Posts

Been reading this site for years. Mostly to help my son as he rises through the junior ranks. Thought I'd finally share something :-)

14-year old Quin Polin - Hole In One - 2019/01/09.

A thing of beauty - two little bounces and straight in the hole!

Brand new Adidas shoes (thanks Adidas Golf) and a new Titleist Vokey sand wedge (thanks GOLFTEC) probably had a hand in it!

Fresh off a record setting 63 at the ACC Southeastern Fall Classic at N.C. State University,

he shoots his second ever hole in one. This time his dad (me!) was there there to film it from the green at

Knight's Play Golf Center, Apex, N.C.

I don't want to be a spoil sport but why is there already a ball on the green?

Why are there pitch marks all over the place? Was he practicing?

I remember watching a video that the European Tour put out of a pro given 100 chances to hit a hole in one from i think wedge or short iron distance and he couldn’t do it

Im not trying to take anything away from a great shot either. That it was specially at 14!! Though I was kinda wondering a few things too like why was his putter already laying next to the green and why didnt he take his bag up to the green with him???

Had i guy i grew up with that had something like 8-9 holes in one by the time we finished middle school yet his parents were ever the only witnesses to them. He was an ok golfer but it was kind of a strange situation to say the least...

Think lots of us have slam dunked 1 or a few during pitching practice when it didnt matter.

Looks like it's up as first post on at least one other site - and why not be excited?

If legit, awesome it's on tape.

And easy for me to say with a couple of hole in ones, lol, but someone came to me before I got one and said okay, it's a 63 or an ace, I'd take the 63 all day, every day! That is an incredible round.

It was about 160 yards and they give him 500 balls, he never got one, but he got real close

Knights Play is a public golf course, gets a ton of play, it is also lighted, that's why so many pitch marks. Dont know about the other ball on the green.

Cool.

Almost a year ago my son got one at the age of 12. The whole family was on the tee box as we were celebrating my wife's b'day. We had been members at our country club for a month. That got peoples' attention when I was buying everbody's drinks at the bar and they were all thanking this little kid.

That's awesome. Congrats to that kid. He was obviously thrilled. That kind of excitement is a lot of fun to watch.

Yeah, that's how Knight's play looks. As Bigeasy mentioned, they get a lot of play and not a lot of TLC. I didn't see another ball on the green when I watched the video. The only thing I saw that looked like it could have been a ball looked more like a leaf or a cavernous ball mark.

You sound just like me on video when my son does or did something amazing. My son was a competitive snowboarder some years ago and each time I rewatch one of his videos where he lands some crazy 360 something another, i would sound like a blithering cheerleader?

Good for you AND you son! Special moments between a father and son for sure.
