Any Experience with the Newer Project a?

I didn't play the 2018 Project a ball at all. Just curious if anybody else here did and if they noticed any difference with the previous version. I played the version with the seam on the cover quite a bit for some time. I liked that ball. I found it to be very long off the driver. Great around the greens, too.

I love the Project A. Flies high and long with all clubs. One day I was chipping around the green from different distances comparing it to the chrome soft and I could not see any difference in performance.

Driver - Callaway Rogue
3w - Callaway Rogue
5w - Callaway Rogue
Irons (GW - 4i) - Callaway Rogue
Putter - Scotty Cameron Newport
Wedges Callaway Mack Daddy 4 - 54 and 60 degrees

Just started playing golf again this summer after taking about 6 years off due to injury and only had read about them, I never saw one on the course until my last round. I found one off the edge of the 3rd hole at Antelope Greens(looked it up at home, it was the 2017 version). I was playing a Tp5 that day and was alone so i decided to play 2 shots the rest of the round and play them head to head. AG is a little Par 3 course in my area that is fun for a fast loop. So lots of shots from 100 to 200 yards. The Project A was very suitable and doesn't differ far from the TP5. For me the flight is higher and more spinny (lost a couple yards on the longer clubs) with irons and driver( 2 driver par 4 holes on course). Felt softer and lighter off the club face, and very comparable around the greens(Didn't have many chips to compare a lot). For a lower cost urethane ball it plays well, I would still probably play the Snell ball for the low cost choice though and the Tp5 for the full price.

I'm in your region. Good input on this. The MTB is about $5 less if I remember correctly. The price hike on the Project a might have affected its sales numbers adversely, I'm guessing.

When in played them for a while last summer, I thought the second gen Project (a) was *much* better than the first P(a). The first version was spinny enough but otherwise sort of blah at everything, especially distance. The current version was one of my favorite balls. Distance was better, spin if anything seemed better, and even the yellow color was much improved. I probably would play them as one of my regulars but I could never find a deal on the yellow ones.

friend uses them (almost) exclusively now, hes older and has lost alot of strength to hit long drives, 3 woods etc was using TMs cheaper balls ie Aeroburner Soft/Pro, Burner Soft/Pro etc so i suggested Project A, he fell in love with them straight away.

found a stray Project S in the trees the other day, have been whacking it round here & there, now thats an odd ball that i dont quite understand what it is.

The '18 ball is awesome. Lots of reviews on YouTube where they are compared to the TP5 and the differences are minimal (except for cost!). Am a club longer with these over my previous ball and get great spin plus amazing feel. Tried the '16 model last year and they were nice, but the new version rocks. Not just for slow swing speed players either: I'm 105+ with driver and 90+ with 7-iron and love these.

Great deals on them out there, especially since once you buy four dozen, you send in the codes under the lid and get a fifth free. I've scored a bunch for $20 per, and have three boxes on the way from TM. No way would I be paying $45+ for "premium" balls when these are readily available. Definitely dig around on YouTube for all the videos.
