Man, the M5 Tour is definitely a different head shape. I like it from the top. I'll have to get a closer look at the face as the silver portion seems to wrap over the edge a bit more. Could be the angle. At first glance, I think I prefer the look of the M3 440 more though. But, will hold judgement until I hold them in hand.

 

Same for the fairways. Visually, I'm just liking the last generation more.

 

And, the headcover reminds me so much if the FT-9/FT Tour headcovers.

 

I wasn't sure at first but after handling them I like the weight and looks.

Does it look noticeably larger than the M3 fairway? Similar shape?

I stopped by the local Golf Galaxy and they had the M6 driver, M6 FW, and M5 Rocket FW wood out to demo. All of them looked and felt great at impact. I've always struggled with fairway shots off the deck, but both of them seemed easy to elevate (understanding that it's an indoor simulator and small sample size). I felt the M6 FW wanted to go more left than the M5 (the weight was in the neutral setting) - it could've been the shaft as they were both stock shafts (M5 with the Tensei Orange and M6 with the Atmos Orange). The matte finish, the smaller silver section than the M3/M4, and shapes were appealing to my eye.

I can't say that it was a noticeable difference based on a few swings I took. I think it'll come down to preference between the head sizes and adjustability when it comes to the loft and/or fade/draw bias to dial in the preferred shot. Both of them looked wonderful at address as mentioned.

When I hit it, it felt similar to the 2017 m1 three wood but launched quite a bit higher.

Hit the M5 today and loved it! Only hit it about 10 times but going to hit it with some different shaft options to really get a good combo to Dial in the specs and then pull the trigger!

Are the HZRDUS shafts in this generation made for Taylormade or are the genuine real deal?

This pic makes the carbon fiber on the toe side of the club look wrinkled. It doesn’t look like it mates up with the weight track very evenly. Sure there are reflections, but the outer edge still looks like it’s not even.

It's even for the first half from the track to the toe, then the CF has a dip in it for aerodynamic reasons. It goes below the straight line of the slot from the second half to the end of the toe.
