2019 Ping G410 Driver - Plus and SFT photos

I'm a much bigger fan of the G400... I just can't get on with the looks of the 410, but it took me a while with the G400, so....

It's just so early to tell but these early reviews ALWAYS seem to indicate a slight increase in performance. In about 6 months maybe we will again be having the talk about how drivers are maxed out and this one really is no better, other than adjustability, than the G400. I love me some Ping, but they would have had to do something spectacular to upgrade me from the G400 and this doesn't seem to be it.

Am I correct in seeing that the adjustable weight only has three setting and it's not a sliding weight like that Callaway or TM have? That would also be kind of lame...

You already knew there would be negligible to slight increases in performance, so what were you expecting?

I was expecting it to look a little better for my personal preferences. Pretty simple really, thought I stated that in my post.

I wonder if the new adapters can be used with the Max. Would love to have the option to go 3* flat.

The old adapters won't work with the new drivers.

My interest was using the new adapter with the old head.

Thank you!

If I read correctly and the 410 can go 3* flatter from 58.5

I might have to try against my LTD pro !

The 410 plus = 410SFT. Might as well just bench the SFT model and only offer the plus.

I like the look. I like the colors. The price is a bit ridiculous for such little change and actually a jump if I'm not mistaken for the original 400 at $400.

We are getting a refined top, same face, different styling on the sole, different shaft / adapter fitting and the weight mobility (which you can only put it in 3 options at Neutral, Draw, and Fade). I don't know if that's worth a price jump but, I also don't have the hookup at Ping. I wouldn't pay full price for it.

I look forward to putting one on a monitor and hopefully out at the range.

Can't bench the SFT. It is 50% more heel biased, and the face in the neutral setting is closed. The head weight and swing weight are lighter.

It is a good club for an older, or weaker golfer who generally hits a slice or push fade. That might be 90% of golfers, and certainly not the majority of players on this site. The player that just wants to buy a driver off the rack that works, without worrying about adjusting weights and face angles.

Unseen, in the background, Fate was quietly slipping the lead into the boxing-glove.  P.G. Wodehouse

Upgrade time from my g30 lst

You may want to wait for the G410 LST to be released.

Am I correct in seeing that the adjustable weight only has three setting and it's not a sliding weight like that Callaway or TM have? That would also be kind of lame...

That is lame. You are left with two open holes where the weight is not positioned. Cheesy. Sticking with the G400 LST.

Brilliant reasoning.

If the holes go straight through to the head I can see dirt or debris possibly finding its way in and it does look a little unfinished to me... It just seems a little cheap to not be able to slide the weight in between the set positions.

This is not to say that it won't perform but if Ping was going this route I wonder why they couldn't have refined it a little more.

Right. Because unfilled screw holes in club heads is so common.

I agree. Seems so odd to have uncovered screw holes in the back of the head. They couldn’t figure out a way to cover the holes that weren’t being used? When someone gets their hands on the head please let us know if the hole goes all the way through the head. Sometimes I wash my clubs with water so will the head get water in it through the holes if I put it under a faucet. Lol

Whats interesting, if the info in the article is correct, the G400 plus will be available in 12 degrees (havent offered a 12 in the standard since G25 I believe, which has irritated me), but the SFT only in 10.5. I wonder if thats correct, I guess you can buy the SFT in 10.5 and 12, and the G410 plus in 9 and 10.5. Also that you dont have to pay extra for the tour, tensei or evenflow. This is the first time they are doing that, hence the increased price for the driver perhaps...

Gonna be real interesting to see if they can sell a $540 driver....yikes!

At least put a real deal shaft in it! Last thing I want to do is buy a new shaft after I bought a driver for $540. Hope the adapter didn't change and all you g400 owners can use your old shafts.

You won't be able to use the the G400 adapter with this driver. The G410 has lie adjustments, the G400 does not.
