I’m waiting for Golf Works to come out with various weights for the G410 Plus so I can slam an 8 gram weight in the heel and the toe. Keep the swingweight the same since it’s still 16 grams but have it on the outside.

Had the same thought. Play mine short so I might be able to add some heavier weights actually.

Same. Play mine at an inch short or their tour length. Currently waiting on the LST to be available for order through my rep, but might get impatient and end up ordering the plus

Am I correct in seeing that the adjustable weight only has three setting and it's not a sliding weight like that Callaway or TM have? That would also be kind of lame...

That is lame. You are left with two open holes where the weight is not positioned. Cheesy. Sticking with the G400 LST.

If the holes go straight through to the head I can see dirt or debris possibly finding its way in and it does look a little unfinished to me... It just seems a little cheap to not be able to slide the weight in between the set positions.

This is not to say that it won't perform but if Ping was going this route I wonder why they couldn't have refined it a little more.

I agree. Seems so odd to have uncovered screw holes in the back of the head. They couldn't figure out a way to cover the holes that weren't being used? When someone gets their hands on the head please let us know if the hole goes all the way through the head. Sometimes I wash my clubs with water so will the head get water in it through the holes if I put it under a faucet. Lol

If you guys think that's a "hole" that water will get through, you're nuts.

I think that's the question... we don't actually know what it is. Is it just threads machined into the head with a bottom, is it a threaded piece epoxied into the head, or is it possibly just a hole that goes into the body of the head? We don't know, do you know exactly what the design is? More info the better obviously, I think that's why questions are being asked about the certain design aspects, that could be potential flaws.

I'm a Ping fan, but that's some funky looking stuff there for a driver that costs as much as it does.

At least put a real deal shaft in it! Last thing I want to do is buy a new shaft after I bought a driver for $540. Hope the adapter didn't change and all you g400 owners can use your old shafts.

You won't be able to use the the G400 adapter with this driver. The G410 has lie adjustments, the G400 does not.

This is really disappointing. Ping has changed their adapter more recently than any of the other major OEMs (Callaway, Titleist, TMAG) and now they are doing it again.

Saw one of the hosel settings is Flat+ which equals a flatter lie +1* extra loft.

I thought adding loft also made the lie angle more upright usually with adjustable drivers not flatter?

So how does that work?

Ping has had the same adapter from 2014 until 2019, how long has it been for the other OEMs?

Not feelin' the luv with the 410.

Prefer a sliding weight ... and their stock shafts are nothng special, they lack feel and consistency to me. $540 for a head?

I will pass this time and wait for the 420, where I suspect they'll refine the left to right weights and holes.

May go back to my 400 over the Max.

Maybe they didn't make the weight a slider because they didn't want to increase the total weight of the head. I would imagine that sliding weight tracks weigh more than individual ports.

I'd imagine it's because that the CoG is only moved a millimeters when it's at the extremes, so having it in increments is almost meaningless.

Although I'd be interested to see the results when someone places 16 gram weights in both the fade and draw setting. PING drivers are pretty heavy already.

Brilliant reasoning.

Right. Because unfilled screw holes in club heads is so common.

was there an outcry here?

Outcry? Thats a bit dramatic.... I do find it interesting how Cobra then went to a TWO weight system instead of a flip system... hmmmmmm. Interesting that they'd cover both ports up. Maybe it's just a conspiracy. Also weird that Titleist would cover up the channel in the 915 fw woods when they redid them for the 917 after complaints of debris getting stuck in there...

I do think it's possible for the 410 to have a couple probable faults at first glance... if this isn't the place to talk about it, then please direct me where to go.

Never said don't talk about it. Just having discourse. I'm also not saying it isn't a potential issue. I just don't think it's as big a deal as the Cobra or Titleist placement, where those two came in direct contact with the ground almost all the time.

Not a big deal at all and shouldn't keep anyone from buying it by any means... but like you said, just having discourse. Even with the LTD, I would find sand or debris, albeit small, but debris inside the head. I didn't hit the ground with it, but it just has a way of sneaking into the head sometimes through the spaceport and was just looking for some further detail and discussion in case anyone here is in the know about this particular design. I am sure it performs really well, that's not to say it can not have minor flaws elsewhere. Simple as that.

Ive heard a couple places say 1% better than standard g400 and Ping has been giving combined MOI numbers as of late. G400 is 9000, so G410 presumable at 9090. (G400 Max is 9900)

Not sure if the 1% quotes from Ping were combined MOI or heel/toe

Questions about the 410 SFT vs PLUS. If one was to put the 410 plus weight in the draw setting, wouldn't that now make it s SFT? From what I see the SFT is just a fixed weight and it has the vortec design in the back of the club. Does the SFT weight weigh more than in the plus version to help with more draw bias? I also believe I read the SFT is more closed at address, are these the only differences? Why go though the process of making two drivers if the PLUS can do what the SFT does except for face angle?????

SFT has heavier draw weighting. According to Ping the face sits neutral.

SFT is lighter in swingweight too (D1 instead of 410Plus of D3)

Another consideration is the 410 plus is offered in 9. 10.5 and 12* lofts. The SFT is 10.5 in the 410 model. They dropped the 12*.

Saw one of the hosel settings is Flat+ which equals a flatter lie +1* extra loft.

I thought adding loft also made the lie angle more upright usually with adjustable drivers not flatter?

So how does that work?

Trajectory Tuning 2.0 in the G410 drivers utilizes a new lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions for influencing ball flight through loft (±1.5°) and lie adjustments, including up to 3° flatter than standard.

Am I reading this right? You can go 3 flat? Has anyone tried this? If so how does that play?

This 5 minute video on TGW is good. The way I understand it is that 3* and flat are separate ideas.

In normal lie angle you can go as much as -1.5 and +1.5, thus giving you 3* to work with.

Additionally, there are 3 more settings that are:

Flat, no loft change

Flat, -1 loft

Flat, +1 loft

I might be wrong, but this is how I read it.

They talk loft at 4:20.
