Oh Rory...his game isn't getting him much coverage at the moment, so at least his latest stupid comment is.

That one at Troon was superb! Stenson would be proud of that although, I cannot possibly imagine Henrik trying to break his trusty 3 wood.

Rory Rory Rory. What are you thinking ? Kicking the little guy rarely ends well. I’d take the bet now that Choi scores better than Rory just on karma points lost by Rory , alone .

Rory you're awesome but this argument is laughable.

Freddie Jacobsen is 2,006 in OWGR. Dru Love is 1,260, Rod Pampling is 865,Luke Donald is 669.

Vijay, Steve Stricker, and David Love III are also in the field.

Here are the real fun ones, David Duval and Peter Jacobsen are also playing.

Exactly.

Pebble is a beautiful venue but the tournament is situated just after Torrey/Phoenix and before Riviera/WGC Mexico. Most of the big name players won't be there which is why guys like Ted Potter occasionally win. The bottom of the field will be littered with players that aren't nearly as highly ranked as Hosung.

Sponsors at most of these tournaments will regularly give exemptions to players that are much lower ranked too.

It's not ironic that no Chinese kids are being named Fēi ěr (Phil).

Fact. https://www.google.c...1767526288.html

Reminds me of googling after seeing "The Kings Speech". That kings speech impediments was reportedly in part depending on him being forced to be right handed while born left handed.

Research has shown that roughly 91% of all people are right-handed. Those are strong numbers - compelling numbers.

It begs the question: Was he really born left-handed?

In Phil's case, he's basically a right-handed person who plays golf as a lefty. This leaves it wide open to a debate about choice and will. And generally speaking, one must have the will to make a choice to overcome doing things that are regarded or viewed as abnormal. This applies to everything in life.

I think a 6-week conversion course as a toddler would get most of the 9% to convert.

Choice and will.

Ferg. I’m on the dark side of the moon with you.

But. Lefties are certainly born different. At least most are. I was raised by a lefty grandmother. And married a lefty. They both exhibit a lot of differences. And neither could do a thing right handed. Both have an artists penmenship , and down right obsessive organizational skills. I’d say forcing either to go righty would have caused major issues.

But to your point. I likely was born righty. I think. But having grown up the way I did and then married a lefty I’m extremely ambidextrous. I catch my self sometimes writing left handed. ( true. ). Hit a baseball both ways. Can hit a golf ball lefty off a tee for power. And identified lefty first playing basketball ( layup drills ) Funny thing is I’m equally bad writing with either hand. Lol.

So I’d guess I was shaped by my environment and still am. When you live with a lefty you realize how many things in the house are different than an all righty house. No point to this. Just observation

Peter Jacobsen is a former champ so he might get in on that criteria but very good point regarding relative OWGR positions.

The guy's won recently on the JGTO I think its extremely harsh to criticise, he's clearly a very competent player.

I doubt we'll get a Rory / Hosung Choi pairing in a featured group.

I hope Hosung Choi has a really good week and I'm really looking forward to watching him.

GolfWRX: "Golfers never speak their minds in interviews"

Golfer: "Speaks mind"

GolfWRX: "Get him!"

True TSM, I'm conflicted as I'm one prone to making the first comment...........................….nevertheless just seems like Rory is going down the Greg Norman rent-a-quote path. Greg is too far gone, Rory is salvageable.

This field is not looking very strong this year. DJ, Phil, Finau, Fleetwood and Jordan. I was hoping more would play this year due to the US Open being here but doesn’t look like it. Pros just don’t like playing in tournaments with amateurs. Slower rounds, more distractions. I’m ok with this guy getting in, one and done unless he can pull off a Ted Potter miracle. I go down the whole week every year and mainly stay at Spyglass. Pebble is not the best course for watching golf with only one side of the hole available for spectators and in many cases the action pretty far away from you. This is the reason I’m not going to the US Open this year. Better to watch the action on TV
