G400 LST - Different Shaft Experiences

I just recently scored a G400 LST 10 degree head for a great deal and am looking to pair it with a quality shaft to get the most out of it.

 

My driver swing speed is generally in the 107 to 112 range and I have a fairly quick transition. I dont have a ton of info on spin and launch, but i do tend to hit it relatively high and if i recall, spin was around 2400 or 2500 last trip to Golftown (testing a few new drivers). Of late, my misses have tended to be hooked a little left.

 

I have never really ventured into the higher end shaft market, as i tended to be an off the rack guy, but am certainly willing to spend some money to hopefully maximize my results. Seeing as I got a good deal on the head and need a shaft anyway, I thought why not invest in something solid.

 

I am just hoping to hear some thoughts and opinions on what might work best, and just some general feedback from those of you who swing the LST and what shaft combo has worked well for you.

I play a G400 LST 10 degree and have a similar swing speed and ball flight. I play a Kuro Kage silver tini 60x -1 degree of loft.

Hzdus yellow pairs nicely with it. Being a heavier head the counterbalance shaft works nicely

I have a whack of shafts for my LST ... favorite 2 are Oban Revenge and Oban Kiyoshi Purple

Kuro kage silver tini 70s for me has been the best match... 105 driver speed. 8.5* head straight in.

The Ping Tour 65 is a great shaft............Low to mid launch and spin................and you can pick one up on eBay at a very reasonable price.

Most successful shaft from last year for my clients with the G400 has been the Tensei Pro Orange V3. Very high ball speeds, super low spin and still gets good launch and feel. Between that and the KK DC Tini 60/70TX you can't go wrong.

I love my pro blue in it but that shaft & I get along in any head so far

I went w/ my trusty Rogue silver, always loved the feel of it and played it in my M2 for a few years. It's been awesome in my LST. Such a flat flight.

I have a ping Tour 75 x shaft and a aldila copper head tour issue 70tx for a g400 lst.

 

I like both shafts very much. The Copper head to me felt a little more lively. The Copper seemed to fly further than the tour. Both had good spin numbers. For me around 21-2400.

 

Depending on launch those spin #'s sound ok to me.

Oh good point on the copper. I have the X-torsion in a 60s, tipped to X by PING, and it produces nothing but straight shots ... not quite as high as I'd like but DEAD straight

Swing speed 108, i ran with kuro kage xt 60x. Love it in my 10.0 head.
