That thing was just fantastic. Too bad it never made it out of proto.

 

The Spider Mini came out of this proto and it's a really nice head shape... Only problem, they never released the slant neck mini to retail which I was ready to buy.

interesting story... I had a "putter shape vision" yesterday evening and actually sketched this up thinking it'd be a nice addition to the Cameron Futura line. I guess I'm a little late and now it'd just be another Cameron copy. dang

No kidding... I literally emailed Cameron Concierge with the sketch days before these popped up in Hawaii. CRAZY the similarities. this was their response:

The alignment line really reminds me of the Odyssey Marxman. Which is a putter that I feel really comfortable lining up.

 

What I was thinking of when I saw that. I really like mine with the single line but also enjoyed the marksman alignment at the store but Spider felt better. Just bought a tour diamond silver but having a shop add this new alignment might be possibility.

That looks damn good. Not normally a gold fan but both look really good.

I'm sure TM did testing with and without the white paint on top and found that the white paint helps improve performance. Otherwise I do not think they would have gone with it. I know I hate the look of alignment aids, but in my experience I do putt better with them than without them.

He's been playing a red Spider Tour ever since his deal with PXG ended. I haven't seen what he has in the bag this week, but I know he had the Spider Tour in the bag last week. There's no way he'd have a custom color of the prototype in the bag right now.

 

EDIT: Confirmed by video to be a Spider Tour at the Sony.

Yes. Navy will be a retail release. With the large white alignment aid, and a solid navy with a single alignment line with white paintfill. (In one of the threads, someone posted a graphic.)

 

And the navy looks surprisingly good in person. I think even players who prefer more traditional colors may still like it.

Nice looking putters, but $349.99.That's getting up there in price. Hope they don't chip like the older models.
