my latest insanity...

satin pings....

well i got a set of eye 2 plus no pluses...and i was going to do my thing and make them chrome polished...then i got this wild hair..so after polishing them to the high chrome look...i put them to the satin wheel...and here you go...very sheak..yet sweet....

i'm showing pic's of a polished set and then to satin...so you can see the progression..

hey..i got this set from your buddy Dave by the way..well in a nuttshell the 14g wasn't enough...i thought about vj having his drivers 4* open and 15g's of lead tape on um..and thought what the hell..actually feels good and keeps the ball from going left a little bit better...

wow theycame out great both times! altough they definately stood out more with the chrome finish as ping usually have that dull look anyway! but both look great...

 

how long would a job like that take you to do?

Ahhh... that was a sweet set of irons. They look great.

the job actually didn't take that long...about an hour and a half..Dave sent them back to ping to be refinished and they had that new finish look which is easier to buff to a single flat finish...(older original models take awhile to get the flat look)

so it was mainly a matter of using a harder wheel and black rouge to get them to the first polished stage, then a quick buff up which made them look very close to the super bling ones...and then the satin wheel...i really like the look..it's doesn't stand out as much as the bling ones..but it's a very subtle look with the pings..perfect satin...

I like the Polished look better, I think it makes them look more unique. Both ways are nice, but I am going with the Polished. Very nice.

i don't but it's from golfworks and it's call the scotchbrite finish wheel..
